I need a middle name for my new dog.

My mum and I have shared parentage of a Westie called Tilly. She is a bit lonely and sad, so we are adopting a new Westie of a similar age and disposition called Hattie.

Now, as you all know, anything that may ever need to be told off needs a middle name so they can be “fullnamed”. Tilly’s full name is Matilda Jane. Hattie will be Harriet, but we need a middle name for her....

I need a middle name for my new dog.

Harriet Jacqueline.

Middle names are essential for pets, in my opinion.

Harriet Celeste, although my dog doesn't have a middle name and I just use his first name and surname if I tell him off.

I would go for Harriet Jane. So that there is a family middle name.

I registered DTwatCat at the vet, knowing that DP was going to be dealing with the de-nadding logistics.

Purely because I wanted DP to be sat amongst all the old ladies and huge, tattooed men picking up animals called things like Kitty Smith, Lulu Jones and Asbo Callaghan when the vet came out, calling 'TwatCat Slartibartfast Hamilton'.

DP sent me a three word text message that told me he'd collected DTwatCat and all was well.

'I hate you'.

I feel very inadequate that my cat only has a first name. I do call her Firstname Surname when she’s being told off, but now feel she needs a middle name too.

BurningGubbins · 21/09/2019 15:42

My dog also has a title... he’s a baron.

i tend to go with spur of the moment middle naming should the occasion warrant it :o

one cat has a middle name, but that's because DS2 wanted to call him DaVinci and that's no first name for a cat.
other cat has her title "Queen of All Cats"

I think Harriet's middle name must be Angelina.

I think Harriet Petunia has a good ring to it in an angry voice. My dog also gets full named when he's being naughty
