Naked Attraction - I'm beyond shocked.

I was flicking through channels looking for something to watch and this came on. I had no idea it's title meant they were actually naked! What possesses anyone, man or woman to go on television completely stark naked? Is is just me who's being an old fuddy duddy to be horrified at this? The words embarrassed and cringemaking don't begin to cover it IMO.

Judith was horrifying and fascinating in equal measure. The chap she picked seemed pretty disappointed that things were going slowly after promises of wild times.

Pubes give an air of mystery, maturity. Sexuality. Maybe that's why the producers make almost everyone shave? Keep it seaside postcard level rather than risk it becoming actually sexy?

@Patroclus - that doesn't surprise me. The moron bit, not the Hull bit. I went to uni in Hull. Is it still one of the best rated unis? Not that I've ever used my degree! I have fond memories of Hull and it is so underrated.

yeah its still very well rated for science and business stuff(loads of international students which is interesting), and the whole city of culture thin has helped the city a lot. Newland ave and Humber Street and unrecognisabe from a few years ago (in a good way) but the city has retained its weirdness. I agree its underated, we even get a lot of tourists here now

lolz - every time i switch off netflix or whatever streaming service I have on (rarely watch actual live tv) the television seems to revert to channel 4 and this show has been on basically every night - and then I end up awake another half an hour because i get sucked into watching the episode - husband & I think its hilarious and I can't help but see who gets picked!!

It's quite a fascinating show - seeing all the diff body types!!

Although looking at all the willys just there on their own on show when you can only see the bottom parts of the bodies kinda grosses me out a bit hahahah

I do wonder though how these people just go back to work the next day after being naked on telly - but maybe as a society we need to be less freaked out about our bodies !! like good for these people really having that kind of confidence!

I do remember a few years ago when I lived abroad - I used to hang out a a nude beach sometimes - one day I was topless there with a group of girl mates - next thing a guy from my work appears completely naked and he's like - oh hey how are you and he leaned in and gave me a hug - I really wished he'd just pretended he hadn't seen me bahahah!

An acquaintance of mine is a model with a very striking and unusual appearance. He got asked to go on Naked Attraction but refused because, you know, human dignity. So they do scout people who they think might be exhibitionists (hence the poster upthread's relative who did the naked protest was scouted) or who are already in the performing and creative arts- especially if they look different.

I watched one episode and thought it was about as sexy as a pig blowing off in your face. It looked like a butcher's shop window.

I love naked attraction! Many a tipsy night has been spent with me and dh critiquing nobs and the like

Yes I saw the churchgoer one and it was absolutely minging. Not only did she sing hymns but also made a cake and talked about someone eating it out of her fanny.
I was horrified and all I could think was Sunday is going to be awkward.
And what the hell! This is Sandra a secondary school teacher from Surrey. ......imagine the staffroom the day after that was shown.

Someone posted a clip of Judith on fb. I watched like this and my mind latched on to something she said - "chode" /"choad"? & I fear I might say it out loud by accident or say something like "are you having chode in the hole for dinner".

Saw a couple of episodes a few years ago. I was a bit surprised by the number of people who'd had plastic surgery. A lot of them talked about how they'd been very insecure about their bodies, so I think it's more like a (desperate) search for validation than the truly confident showing off. I remember one very beautiful young man with a massive wang who somehow still didn't get picked. He was gutted.

The most interesting bit for me is the lies the picker makes up to try to sound like a nicer person, eg "I'm not a fan of tattoos" or "I dunno, there's just something about the other one's hands that I really like" or "Its so difficult to choose" rather than "Their penis is too small" "they're too old" "they're really creepy looking".

I find it exploitative and reductive. There seemed to be a very narrow demographic involved based on the one show I have seen and it's not ABC1

Well. After this thread last night I sought out the Judith episode. I loved her! Yes she was mad but she didn't appear to be pretending in an "I'm mad me!!!" kind of way. She just seemed naturally over the top, sexual and forward and I could see why (some of) the men found her attractive, which kind of made me feel more confident in myself as a middle-aged fairly recently single person. The christianity thing was irrelevant really.

I LOVED how Anna reacted, clearly totally mindboggled but still always found dome way to keep it going and have something positive to say, what a pro.

It was also the Lauren Harries episode and that bit i found much more uncomfortable. I wondered if they'd put fabulously feminine Judith in the same episode as a foil to Lauren. I actually Lauren came across as much too vulnerable, and shouldn't have been allowed on. You could see everyone's micro-expressions and discomfort as they tried to come over as woke and accepting, especially the poor picker when he was getting that embarrassing bollocking. One of the women in another box actually covered her boobs and looked super-awkward.

As for the pubes, even Judith's older men mostly didn't have any! I really hope it doesn't reflect the reality - if I do start seeing men again at some point I don't fancy them being bald!

If I ever went on NA - which to be fair I wouldn't :o - I'd have to fly the flag for a natural bush and request all my naked blokes to have bushes too.

Yes they meet up again a couple of weeks later for a post-mortem, and sometimes they're still seeing each other. Sometimes it's just awkward and sometimes one of them doesn't turn up, presumably having regretted it all and suddenly emigrated.

This show has been around for ages, where have you been. And try watching it for the first time when your visiting you PIL

I only discovered it last year. I think it's because I hardly ever watch what's actually on, I mainly just watch news channels or use iplayer etc. to watch dramas. So I just have very little clue about what's on in the murkier recesses of the schedules.

I'd never heard the word chode before seeing that episode, it's quite recent slang I think. So if you accidentally announce "chode in the hole" at the dinner table most people probably won't have a clue :)

So has Lauren Harries retained their penis? And was lined up with natal women?
Because to completely avoid that elephant trunk in the room would be bizzare on a show where you explicitly choose someone based on physical attributes.

Im very comfortable being naked & don't hide in women's changing rooms etc. But Naked Attraction makes me SO uncomfortable. I think it's the cringe behaviour and desperate attempts to be totally cool talking about a stranger's penis girth that sets me off, not the nudity at all.

Groggy no there was no penis, and Lauren's body could have been taken for female superficially. I agree a "female penis" haver could well be a step too far for NA, unless it was the choice of the picker and they were all like that.
