Why are all CBeebies presenters very young?

Well they all look young to me!
Certainly under 30.

Why not have a 60 year old presenting?
I actually can’t remember ever seeing anyone over about about 40 presenting CBeebies, which is a bit odd as they seem very hot on diversity.

Is it just me who thinks this?

Probably because children think a 25 year old is ancient, let alone a 60 year old.

But why is being ancient a bad thing?

Presenters over the age of 40 probably have more self respect. Those young’uns bouncing about the place in Primary coloured clothing give me a headache, never mind having to do it for a living 😁

There used to be all sorts of people reading bedtime stories, no idea if they still do. And Justin has to be getting on a bit now. It’s been a while since I was forced to suffer CBeebies.

And also because a lot of people start off in kids TV as a stepping stone into other TV work?

Many presenters learn their trade on Children's TV. Then move on to other things, some seem to disappear completely!

How old is Rebecca? She looks both very young and quite old at the same time.

They could have a mix of ages I suppose. I think they are like the fun big brother or sister.

Justin is def over 40, surely Andy is too.

It's not to me. But children often seem to find it harder to relate to people who are a lot older than they are. I presume that's the received wisdom on it, at least.

I like older people - it’s the grannies and grandpas some kids don’t have.

They need the energy and enough ambition/ desperation to override personal dignity. That's gone by 35

Pui is 48 and Sid is 52.

Ah I remember Chris Jarvis when he started out on cbbc in the 90s. He hasn't really changed much

Older people probably don’t want to bounce around singing nursery rhymes tbf, I know I wouldn’t want to and I’m not even that old.

Rebecca (I goggled her) is 34, and is married to Sidney who she presented lets play with!! I didn't expect that!

Apparently Andy is only 38 yrs. He looked that ten years ago.

I'm sure I've seen Floella Benjamin read the bedtime story and she must be nearly 70 now! And Bernard cribbins still does kids TV.

Sid, Chris, Justin & Pui still look relatively young though.
I suppose what I’m saying is, why not have someone who actually looks old(er) . What’s wrong with being 65 ( & looking it! )

nothing is wrong with it! I would guess older people don't actually want to present kids tv?
