Why are all CBeebies presenters very young?

Well they all look young to me!
Certainly under 30.

Why not have a 60 year old presenting?
I actually can’t remember ever seeing anyone over about about 40 presenting CBeebies, which is a bit odd as they seem very hot on diversity.

Is it just me who thinks this?

Chris is still going - he was presenting stuff relating to the Cbeebies Prom. I think he mostly produces these days but it's probably advantageous to keep your face familiar with new generations of kids.

Oh fgs been down a sodding Tikkabilla rabbit hole. Beverly and ?Simon were the village elders, so to speak, with dreamy Paul and perky Sarah Jane, Justin et al all in the flower of yoof.

I forget a lot of stuff on CBeebies is just repeats and some of the series aren’t even made anymore.

Like In the Garden, they only made one or two series 10+ years ago now and just repeat the same episodes year on year.
I wonder how much time has to pass before something is completely ‘retired’.

I heard an interview with one of the ex presenters. She said that they all get shitfaced on a Thursday. There is a gin trolley that goes round and they all get pissed.

Floella was on tv in something recently, she has not aged. At all. She's nearly 70 and looks incredible.

Haworthia the lovely Chris Corcoran from Doodledoo did a lot of radio stuff with Rhod Gilbert. Think he did stand up too.

So many presenters or actors from the shows are older than 30. Chris and poi have been going since I was younger and sid and Rebecca have been there for a while and Kate must be near 40. The newer ones are younger but it makes sense, Rebecca was younger and is still here.

Sid and Rebecca are married? I did not know that. I’ve always thought their chemistry was amazing and I love the show let’s play. I’ll have to break the news to my partner lol

I remember a thread ages ago where the OP asked if anyone was famous and someone said they were on childrens TV, sometimes you see them sometimes they just voice over and I thought at the time it might be Rebecca. So if Rebecca is about please could you confirm you are not married to Sid?

I'll be honest my 3 year old does seem to prefer the programmes with the younger presenters. She likes Maddie and Catie's amazing machines, not fussed at all on the tea cup one

I have previously read of very popular BBC children’s presenters having been ‘offered less work’ when they got older.

Although the presenters I am thinking of were older than Chris and Justin when this happened.
