Why are all CBeebies presenters very young?

Well they all look young to me!
Certainly under 30.

Why not have a 60 year old presenting?
I actually can’t remember ever seeing anyone over about about 40 presenting CBeebies, which is a bit odd as they seem very hot on diversity.

Is it just me who thinks this?

Because little kids want enthusiastic bouncing around -incredibly irritating- presenters?

I didn't know Rebecca and Sid from let's play were married, that's so lovely. I'm imagining them living in a brightly decorated house and singing at the breakfast table .

I agree with @EdtheBear. A lot of people start on children's tv and then either disappear or go on to present adult stuff like Philip Schofield.

Mr Tumble is 49 - his tv show has been running for TWENTY YEARS

They just look young.. or maybe some are.. maybe they’re vampires.. who gives a toss.

I’m not even 30 and I think I’d be filling in maccies applications if I had to jump about like that all day lol I’m already knackered n 60 on the inside.

Can anyone remember the name of a children’s tv presenter - male, obnoxious insulting persona, may have been dressed all in black, possibly leather, dyed back hair, very slender for a male, like a poor man’a Alice Cooper in appearance.

He was in a video vault I think in a section of the main show/programme. Don’t think he was from the 1990s, maybe later 2000 onwards.

I only saw him once or twice and was struck by how unfunny and horrible he was.

Isn't Floella on there anymore? She must be getting on a bit by now.

I don't think Rebecca and Sid are married. I had a bit of a google and can't find any credible source for that, just a fan blog. And Rebecca and Sid were tweeting normally about other stuff on their supposed wedding day.

It's because they're supposed to be fun and relatable - unlike the viewers' parents! More like young, fun aunts and uncles, or nursery workers.

The 'continuity' presenters anyway. I'm sure they're deliberately 'retired' at 35.

Most of the older ones mentioned only appear in repeats. When did Sid last make a programme for CBeebies, about ten years ago? Justin is the obvious exception but he has more of a niche. Andy may be heading that way too.

Sid left CBeebies years ago. Chris and Pui don’t make Show Me Show Me anymore.

Justin is the only one of those mentioned that still works for the channel. And he’ll never retire I’m sure

But it’s true the presenters who do the links are always young. There was an older guy (Welsh, I’ve forgotten his name) who was demoted to doing website stuff, and I always figured it was because he was noticeably older than the other presenters.

It does seem to be a requirement that you look loads younger than you are. I know Chris Jarvis has stopped now but he always looked a decade younger than he was.

holidayhelpppp I absolutely didn't go googling for wedding photos. And I absolutely wasn't disappointed when I didn't find any...

I wouldn't blame Rebecca though, I've always fancied a bit of Sid 😋
