The other day I watched 'The Impossible', the film about the 2004 tsunami. I've seen it before but for some reason it caught my attention again.

One thing lead to another and I ended up watching videos of the 2011 Japan tsunami. At the time I had no TV or Internet so had no idea of the scale of the problem, it was just something I heard on the radio.

I can't stop watching these videos now Sad

Definitely ASMR videos, particularly the unintentional ones at the moment like the medical exams, suit fittings (navy suit for war 😂), hairdressing etc.

Watching girls bleach their hair so many times it starts to melt off, and the Brad Mondo reactions to this. Makes me feel better about bleaching my own hair to fuck!

General hair and makeup tutorials.

Roller-coaster videos - I was talking to a couple of people about this the other week who also said they watch these and I was quite surprised, so it must be a bit of a thing!

Royallyscrewed · 20/11/2019 21:29

What would you do? I’ve lost hours watching those videos and most recently been watching Crazy Russian Hacker trying out gadgets. I don’t even know why I enjoy them so much but I really do.
Also to my shame I watch spot popping ones before I go to sleep sometimes, again I don’t know what the attraction is but i find them deeply satisfying.

Slow-Mo Guys. Things in slow motion are hauntingly beautiful and it's lovely to relax to.

I lost a whole month to Bruno Mars videos. I’m not even that much of a fan.
I’ve also watched an unnecessary amount of fan videos of tv shows I don’t even watch.

NonUrinatInVentum · 20/11/2019 21:42

Luxury brand unboxing
Dr. Pimple Popper
Abraham Hicks. I could listen to Esther for hours!
Dash cam channels
Architectural Digest channel looking at the multi million dollar homes all over the US. Money doesn't buy taste!!!

BoneAppleTeaa · 20/11/2019 21:48

Reading this thread I realise I watch way too much!

Blackhead extractions
Dash cams
Beauty channels
Vegan food channels
Self help stuff like Dr Phil, Tony Robbins
Carpet / rug cleaning
Decluttering and cleaning
Gaming

I somehow spent a couple of hours watching a guy going around unblocking street drains in the States, it wasn’t even his job he just enjoyed it!

Abandoned buildings
Charlie Gold reacting to Foodie Beauty and Amberlynn Reid

Stravapalava · 20/11/2019 21:48

Dancing peacock spiders and fainting goats. Love them both!

Kalim8 · 20/11/2019 21:50

Near death experiences
Ted talks
Binaural beats
Unexplained stuff such as what the navajo ranchers saw

OhHereSheIs · 20/11/2019 21:50

@Royallyscrewed I LOVE What Would You Do? I was up until silly o’clock the other night watching it, I find it fascinating to see how people react in certain situations

RexDangerVest · 20/11/2019 21:58

RexDangerVest · 20/11/2019 21:59

onemorecakeplease · 20/11/2019 21:59

Dog rescue videos.

Can lose hours watching those!

I didn’t care about Pink (as in the singer) when she first came onto the scene, and at least didn’t until about six weeks ago. My now ex had been to see her in concert and some of her songs reminded me of my ex, so yeah I started listening to her music - I’m totally obsessed with the video for a Whatever You Want. It’s like behind the scenes footage with her husband and children and I must watch it multiple times a day as well as listen in the car.

The other thing I love watching is the Ashley Neal driving instructor clips, where there’s his analysis on situations and road rage and the like. It’s all good fun to watch and learn at the same time. Oh and I watched repeats of C4’s The Job Centre, it was the only place I could find to watch it!

AwdBovril · 20/11/2019 22:12

I saw some of the tsunami videos.
American police videos - eye-opening stuff. Feel so safe in the UK in comparison.
Cooking stuff, especially by healthy people, e.g. models, personal trainers, etc.
In fact anything on healthy eating, different theories on optimising health, weight etc.
Dash cams.
Clothes & dressmaking. Modern & period stuff interests me.
Anything on knitting techniques.
Sort-of documentaries - there's a channel called "Old TV Time" that's just old public information films. Quite interesting.

nilcarborundum · 20/11/2019 23:23

The man who finds things in the river, sometimes with a metal detector. It's mostly iPhones and sunglasses but I can't stop watching it Grin

RhinoskinhaveI · 20/11/2019 23:45

Very very old footage of anywhere, and space videos ...anything has footage/photos of the surface of another planet/moon amazes me 🌌🌚

Ravenrob · 20/11/2019 23:47

I watch buttercream icing videos over and over.

BiMum5 · 20/11/2019 23:56

Molly Burke, wonderful young blind woman who loves fashion, pink and purple although she can't remember what they look like, and sparkly stuff because it's one of the only things she can still see
Jammidodger, young trans man, lovely individual.
Flat earthers. bless them, they so want it to be true that they explain away all the science to suit themselves!😂
Another fan of Foil Arms and Hog!

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 21/11/2019 00:05

Cake and biscuit decorating. Find it rather soothing.

TiddyTid · 21/11/2019 00:08

Mango worms

SenecaFalls · 21/11/2019 00:17

I love the historical clothing ones like Prior Attire.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 21/11/2019 00:19

@TwatCat I think Steve managed to get botulism from an old food pack a few years ago- it’s mentioned in the comments on some of his vids.
But come the apocalypse, it will be cockroaches, Keith Richards and Steve who survive Grin

littleorangecat22 · 21/11/2019 00:33

OP i did the same thing with the same movie very recently, how weird! Its not like it's a recent or commonly known film. I wonder if youtube had it featured recently as I just stumbled across it. Then spent hours watching tsunami vids.

anniemac1984 · 21/11/2019 00:47

Pinkbonbon · 21/11/2019 00:47
