The other day I watched 'The Impossible', the film about the 2004 tsunami. I've seen it before but for some reason it caught my attention again.

One thing lead to another and I ended up watching videos of the 2011 Japan tsunami. At the time I had no TV or Internet so had no idea of the scale of the problem, it was just something I heard on the radio.

I can't stop watching these videos now Sad

There's some good ones of everyday items being thrown into a shredder or being crushed with a hydraulic press.

IDontLikeZombies · 11/09/2019 22:03

Currently binging on Bob Gymlan videos exploring Bigfoot phenomena - that's been very interesting. I also like Trey the Explainer debunking everything, just for balance.
I like a good dose of cryptozoology and scary unsolved mysteries and I've usually frightened myself so much I need ASMR to calm back down Grin

Livedandlearned · 11/09/2019 22:04

Ear wax removal and ingrown hair removal are my ultimate favourite. Abandoned houses my second favourite.

Ask a Mortician. I'm not sure why really because it creeps me out, but here I am listening to her talk about dead bodies.

Also make up videos.

IDontLikeZombies · 11/09/2019 22:10

I used to be hooked on the Illuminati. I know much more about Denver Airport than a woman who's never been further west than County Kerry should.
I sometimes get sucked into the whole lost highly advanced civilisations/out of time objects/Lemuria/Atlantis rabbit hole but its like crack cocaine for me so I have to ration myself

hittheroadjack1 · 11/09/2019 22:11

I spend hours watching brad mondo

ALittleBitAlexis · 11/09/2019 22:16

Blooper reels from.pretty much any show, inckuding old It'll Be Alright on the Night and Auntie's Bloomers episodes.

Can't get enough bloopers!

Comps83 · 11/09/2019 22:20

I went through a phase of watching people mud lark on the Thames . And various other videos of people looking for stuff in rivers

Amortentia · 11/09/2019 22:24

I don’t know how anyone can tolerate ASMR, I can’t listen to it. It fills me with rage, I feel like someone is scratching my brain.

heymammy · 11/09/2019 22:25

Skateboarding videos...and yet I don't skateboard Confused .

Also dogs being reunited with their soldier owners. Poor wee stray dogs being rescued and treated and finding their forever homes. I don't even particularly like dogs!

YouTube brings out the weird in me.

MidnightMystery · 11/09/2019 22:32

ASMR - Jellybeans lights !

Food tube- Jamie Oliver
Recipes - bread making

Soap making

Dr Paul

" What would you do? " really interesting!

Conspiracies

TenPenceMix · 11/09/2019 23:10

Flat earth conspiracy theories, or any conspiracy theory really. I don't believe them but I do find them fascinating

wigglybeezer · 11/09/2019 23:19

Sporn, obviously but also more wholesome fare, American homesteading vloggers, market gardeners, tiny house builders and alternative architecture...

SadieBaneso · 11/09/2019 23:39

ChiefClerkDrumknott I am also obsessed with Steve1989 videos. “Let’s get this out on a tray. Nice!”

KimKardash · 11/09/2019 23:45

Chiropractor videos when they crack people's necks and backs omg it makes my mouth water 🤣 I'm a freak I know!

Princesspond · 12/09/2019 00:50

My current faves: plane crashes / mysteries eg flight MH370

kitboga - tech scam baiter (particularly his Edna character).

DH - fond of unsolved mysteries / weird goings on. Trouble is he falls asleep (many have very soothing voices) and I’m wide awake and terrified in the dark Shock

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 12/09/2019 13:05

@SadieBaneso I don’t know why it’s so satisfying every time Grin

FaerieKiss · 12/09/2019 13:13

Dog grooming videos, where they rescue some poor, little scamp with awful matted coats and slowly transform them, and make them all clean and fluffy again. It's sooooo satisfying to watch.

Also, calligraphy videos. I'm pretty good myself, but what some artists can produce is stunning.

ALittleBitAlexis · 12/09/2019 13:59

Oh, and I've seen this video of a hydraulic press crushing candles way to many times (and I've just watched it twice more) - so satisfying:

slipperywhensparticus · 12/09/2019 14:05

Soap making

Milicentbystander72 · 12/09/2019 14:10

Dr Phil - hooked on it.

That took into watching documentaries about the case of Gypsy Rose Blanchard who helped kill her mother after years and years of medical abuse, bring kept in a wheelchair chair and lies from her mother (who must have had Munchausen by Proxy) - very interesting.

UnfamousPoster · 12/09/2019 14:19

I like Man + River - weekly videos of a bloke scuba diving in rivers in the USA finding phones, sunglasses, go pro's etc.

Plus dashcam compilation videos and rollercoasters around the world.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 12/09/2019 17:59

5 minute hacks keeps popping up for me. As much as they are terrible I just can't look away. I'll spend ages watching them

GlitchStitch · 12/09/2019 18:04

ASMR- I alternate between the same 4 or 5 channels but watch it everyday.

Reaction videos- watching people watch a performance/ singer etc. Sounds weird but it's really addictive, people reacting to Dimash the singer for the first time is great.

Roozy123 · 12/09/2019 18:08

I've watched asmr videos on YouTube around 10 years now every night sometimes even the day!

I also watch Shane Dawson, Amberlynn Reid (an almost 600lb woman who I can't stop watching now I've started, she mainly vlogs)
I love YouTube- I have it on daily and find myself watching all sorts.

I've also watched documentaries on Russian children's home which were just heart breaking. I also (if I fancy a massive cry lol) watch adoption stories or families finally getting a child.

I watch alot of different things lol
I do love YouTube
