Sandwich conflict

Please settle an argument. My DH thinks that only one slice of bread should be buttered when making a sandwich. I think that it is wrong because fillings fall out and the sandwich is dry.

No butter on a hot bacon sandwich, just dip on the top slice, must be made with white bread.

On the other hand, BLT sandwich needs butter and mayonnaise to help hold it all together, and may be made with brown bread.
