If a snap election is called, who will you vote for?

This will be such a difficult election, as I reckon almost everyone will vote tactically.

I am a remainer, and was a traditional Labour voter, though that doesn’t feel like home any more.

I also voted no, but now find myself thinking independence might not be the worst option any more.

I will not vote for Johnston.
I like Jo Swinson, but her party will never be big enough to make a big difference.
Corbyn seems a principled man, but he is too far left for me and he’s not a leader - he is a divisive character.
Farage represents all I hate in politics.

I will be voting SNP,, for the first time in my life.

Anyone who thinks that the Brexit issue will be “over with”, if and when we leave without (or even with) a deal, is going to be sorely disappointed.

It will be the same if Remainers manage to thwart Brexit. The divisions won't go away. This will run and run until we get a set of decent politicians who actually deal with the divisions in the country. Should never have got to this state, but crap politicians over the past 20 years or so have caused this.

spongemumnudiepants · 03/09/2019 20:23

I honestly don't know but certainly not BoJo and co.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 03/09/2019 20:30

“Thwart”
It is leavers who have stopped us leaving. They have had many opportunities to vote through the WA which would have meant we have left the EU, but because none of them can agree on anything or take any responsibility, we are still here. Leavers aren’t the underdogs they are desperate to consider themselves. They won, why didn’t they step up?

Tory.

Devonishome1 · 03/09/2019 20:48

Tory

MymbleClement · 03/09/2019 21:19

Labour. I'm not a Corbynite but we desperately need to get the Tories out IMO and Labour stand the best chance of getting them out. I genuinely do not understand the 'I've always voted Labour but I won't because I don't like Corbyn' What, so more austerity, more public sector cuts, more people dying in poverty, is preferable to voting for a party whose policies you might agree with but happens to be headed by a man you don't like all that much?! This is how the US ended up with Trump.

MorrisZapp · 03/09/2019 21:22

Extremely grudgingly, Labour. Yuck.

Veryveryverylate · 03/09/2019 21:23

Lib dem

Moomin8 · 03/09/2019 22:18

Absolutely right @MymbleClement

MrsFogi · 03/09/2019 22:22

I would like to vote none of the above however given how messed up things are re Brexit I feel I must vote. I have always voted Con however given the crap re Brexit they have lost me forever, Corbyn means I will not vote labour, Greens - hell will freeze over given their stance on women, so I will have to hold my nose (given their stance on self ID) and vote for LibDems in the hope of remaining in Europe.

Moomin8 · 03/09/2019 22:24

Am I right I'm saying that the only party who has said they will rejoin / keep us in the EU is LibDems?

CopperTrolley · 03/09/2019 22:29

Actually, I’ll probably vote for my current MP if they kick him out of the Tory party (was one of the rebels tonight) and he stands again. Probably the best option for keeping any Boris-approved candidate out.

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 03/09/2019 22:31

Conservative as always.

TeaLibrary · 03/09/2019 22:37

Nope. None of the above

trulyconfuseddotcom · 03/09/2019 22:37

SNP. I know Scottish independence will be messy and difficult in the short to medium term but it's the only way forward, based on the strong message from Westminster that they hold us, as a nation, in total contempt. The Tories and the other right wing parties are not interested in the welfare of the electorate in any way, shape or form - your BoJos, Rees-Moggs, Farages etc are in this for everything they and their pals can get, and will be selling everything and anything to anyone they think will line their pockets so fast it will make your head spin.

SeaWitchly · 03/09/2019 22:49

Labour definitely 😊

SeaWitchly · 03/09/2019 22:51

I truly cannot understand how anyone would vote Tory. They have been an absolute shit show for the UK 🙄

Moomin8 · 03/09/2019 23:45

The majority of people are worse off under the Tories. But some of those still vote for them under the misguided opinion that they are 'good for the economy'

I don't see much evidence of this myself 🤷🏻‍♀️

Smellybluecheese · 03/09/2019 23:49

Lib Dem but live in a Tory stronghold so it makes no difference

Bunnyfuller · 03/09/2019 23:54

LD or Labour, but I wish the opposition parties would agree to disagree and not compete against each other. This is about best for the country not who wants to be the superstar pm

Aurignacian · 03/09/2019 23:55

SNP

toiletseat · 03/09/2019 23:59

Lib dem

Bunnyfuller · 03/09/2019 23:59

The average working joe votes Tory because he sees no further than ‘tax’. Despite the tax on his wages being moderately lower, he is unable to balance that small benefit against fuels bills, his shopping basket, not being able to get a doctors appointment, his car getting knackered driving over potholes and his mum shut up in a shitty care home being looked after by people on minimum wage who are overworked, underpaid, undervalued and because of this quite often disengaged.

He will still say ‘yeah, but taxes’ plus The Sun points him that way.

The wealthy Tory voter wants the tax breaks and doesn’t give a fuck about the other stuff because it doesn’t affect them.

ShadyLady53 · 03/09/2019 23:59

Argh it’s such a tough one. I voted to Remain but actually think leaving with a deal would be best for the country now...I think being forced to Remain would upset a lot of people and we could well feel the repercussions further down the line.

I could not in any good conscience vote for a Labour Party with Jeremy Corbyn at its helm.

Similar story with the Conservatives.

A lot of the Conservatives and Labour Mps I actually liked have defected to Lib Dem’s (hoping Rory Stewart will to) and I’m a centrist so most closely allied to them in terms of principles.

So I’d be voting Lib Dem even though I don’t think Remaining is what is currently best for the country. Even a Leaver in my family said he’d vote Lib Dem if the GE goes ahead.

Just horrified at the mess that is UK politics today.

Brexit has taken up too much time and made it impossible to work on the really important aspects of what is going on in our countries. We need to get back to sorting out the UK and the effects of austerity, unrest and crises in public services.

Stationeryqueen · 04/09/2019 00:20

Lib Dem.

I don't agree with them on 100% everything, however, they are most closely aligned to my beliefs.

We are in a safe Labour Brexit seat so I can't see that changing.

I was talking to 2 people earlier today who have been life long Conservative voters, both said they would vote Lib Dem. They were ashamed of what the party had become, and that it no longer represented them.
