If a snap election is called, who will you vote for?

This will be such a difficult election, as I reckon almost everyone will vote tactically.

I am a remainer, and was a traditional Labour voter, though that doesn’t feel like home any more.

I also voted no, but now find myself thinking independence might not be the worst option any more.

I will not vote for Johnston.
I like Jo Swinson, but her party will never be big enough to make a big difference.
Corbyn seems a principled man, but he is too far left for me and he’s not a leader - he is a divisive character.
Farage represents all I hate in politics.

I will be voting SNP,, for the first time in my life.

Lib Dem all the way

AgeLikeWine · 03/09/2019 18:53

I could never vote for the Tories, obviously, and despite the fact that I am a former Labour activist, I will not vote Labour again while Corbyn is leader.

If I lived in Scotland, I would happily vote for the SNP, but I don’t so I cant.

Which leaves the Lib Dems or Greens. I will probably vote Lib Dem, but It won’t make any difference as I live in one of the safest Tory seats in the Midlands.

Rachelover40 · 03/09/2019 18:55

Labour for me.

I couldn't vote Tory, and every other party has been out and proud in their destruction of women. Last week I would have been with you on that.

But today I could vote Tory... just to get this all over and done with! I am truly exasperated with it all now... as I may have made clear on a few similar threads this evening Blush

DoraleeRhodes · 03/09/2019 18:58

Lib Dem mostly likely, possibly Green. In a Tory stronghold though so it won’t mean much really

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/09/2019 19:04

Are you sure about LibDem? They seem to be imploding at the moment! Poor old Jo seems to be stood in front of a tottering edifice!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/09/2019 19:06

And the Greens seem to be all non identifyingly confused, totally unprepared for any issue outwith the navel!

NotMyRealName123 · 03/09/2019 19:09

Labour

Drabarni · 03/09/2019 19:10

I'd vote labour and have jewish blood/ family members.
I just listen to what they actually say, not what is reported by the tory media.

lovelyupnorth · 03/09/2019 19:11

None of the Above. If I really had a choice.

Will be voting libdem we need to stop this shit show.

HouseOfGoldandBones · 03/09/2019 19:15

For the 1st time in my life I have no idea. I've always voted SNP. It should be easy, but both SNP & LibDem don't know what a woman is, so that gives me a problem. I'm a remainer, so Tory is out (obviously they would be anyway), can't stand Corbyn & think he's as dangerous as Boris.

So, it'll be SNP as usual, but I'll be holding my nose when I do it.

Scunnered03 · 03/09/2019 19:16

SNP........hang on Independence, we're coming!

ICouldntHelpButWonder · 03/09/2019 19:17

Conservatives

dannydyerismydad · 03/09/2019 19:19

Probably labour, as our current MP is excellent and represents his constituency well.

It's a tough call though. I don't rate Corbyn as a leader.

thunderthighsohwoe · 03/09/2019 19:22

I live in a constituency that has never seen anything other than an overwhelming Tory majority so I do sometimes think what’s the point....

However, I will vote LD due to my Brexit stance.

Will have to of course avoid any political conversation with any members of my family, who consider me the ‘soft liberal’ black sheep of the family. Because of course all teachers are 😂

cheesemumma · 03/09/2019 19:22

How the fuck are people voting Tory? I literally cannot understand it. You're selfish bastards. I'm sorry but it's true. I feel sick. God help the environment and any low income, the disabled or foreigners that live here. If they win I'll be ashamed to be British. I'm going to stand up and be counted as denying them, I want to be on the right side of history.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/09/2019 19:24

You're selfish bastards. I'm sorry but it's true. I feel sick. No, it's your opinion, your own hyperbole. I am sure those who vote Tory have their reasons and see theother parties as horrendus alternatives. I see their point, ALL parties are fucking awful at the moment!

cheesemumma · 03/09/2019 19:26

It's not opinion. It's fact.

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 03/09/2019 19:26

I'm a teacher with a disabled son. Labour for me but live in a Tory stronghold

LarkDescending · 03/09/2019 19:28

Anyone who thinks that the Brexit issue will be “over with”, if and when we leave without (or even with) a deal, is going to be sorely disappointed.

cheesemumma · 03/09/2019 19:28

I work with people with disabilities and sat in citizen advice bureau today watching an elderly European woman sobbing and trying to find out if she was able to stay after Brexit. It's fact.

Sneezewitch · 03/09/2019 19:38

Really perplexed by the personality politics voters who think JC is somehow a worse option than Boris, a man responsible for the ongoing internment of a British citizen (wife, mother) because he couldn’t be arsed to read his briefing documents.

I’ll be voting on manifesto, most likely Labour. I like Corbyn.

Weirdly I don’t hate the Tories per se. I’ve come to understand that there’s lots of good in traditional conservatism-the kind that cares about civil liberty, opportunity, and security. But this shower of fuckwits are the absolute worst the party have to offer and have demonstrated nothing but contempt for the population they’re meant to represent.

Catmar · 03/09/2019 19:42

Labour

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/09/2019 19:54

That's true Lark I probably shoudl have said "To start a different merry go round, to get something different happening" That may have been the last of my optimism speaking!

I don't think Corbyn is worse just no better than Johnson. I don't hold ANY current politicin in particualr good, let alone high esteem. They have all, very clearly over the last 3 years, grandstanded, filibustered and pfaffed to absolutely no avail. They have a grand NO but offer no viable alternative. They are no bloody use to anyone, let alone the country.

And what they are all doing now is absolutely atrocious, ALL of them EVERY motion being made. It could ALL have been avoided. Just pick a time period

Cameron - just don't say it!

May - just bloody do it

Any EU bod - just stop and think it through

All of them - it happened, sit down, talk without the bloody egotistical shite and work out how to get us out with the least harm to the UK and the EU.

But none f them did that, they all stood behind their red line and shouted THOU SHALT NOT CROSS. No mater what the cost of that, they still do.

So many meaningless red lines and nobody taking the longer view. What do we pay them for? They are supposed to be the ones who are politically savvy, have some diplomatic nous!

Total bollocking shambles and NONE of them are worth a vote!

littlemissmuffins · 03/09/2019 19:56

Oh it's a really difficult one..

Could not and will not ever vote Tory as long as I live .. they have blood on their hands.. their austerity measures and selling off the NHS. Seriously, just look in any kind of depth and anyone can see how they are morally corrupt and dangerous liars.. particularly Johnson. The 'freeze' on tax credits has impacted myself horribly, and their persecution of disabled people.. almost everything they do is abhorrent. Cannot see how anyone not insanely wealthy and set up for life would ever vote for them.

Labour.. I agree with their principles. Personally I like Corbyn. However I do agree he is unpopular as a leader and it frustrates me the inactivity of Labour on Brexit until now. Also really dislike Harriet Harman.

Lib Dems - agree with the majority of their policies but just cannot reconcile their selling out with the Tories and enabling austerity.

SNP - don't have anything against them in principle. Agree they are the only party really standing up for Scotland in all of this mess. However I don't think another independence ref is a good idea right now for the next couple years, with all the turmoil already happening.

So.. probably Labour I guess. What a mess.
