Can I show off and be shameless here? I can't in real life

I have had a very tough time recently, dh has had a nervous breakdown, my dad who has always been abusive hit a new low and we're NC. My mum emigrated and it's just been so hard.
But ds got 11 level 9s and and A** in further maths yesterday and I am so so proud. He is severely dyspraxic and had oral dyspeptia which went undiagnosed until he was 4 which severely affected his speech. I was told he had SEN and he was put in a special group, I knew he was frustrated and moved his school then home schooled. He went to the local comp for secondary, it was on special
Measures, he was bullied but here we are.
I am so proud of my boy. I could burst.
As a working class northerner I will be ostracised for rl showing off, so can I be shameless here?
Sorry to anyone I annoy, I just need an outlet! Mn has helped me so much over the years with ds, dh and just life. Thank you all so much SmileSmileSmile

I suspect he'll leave at 18 and blaze a trail from this grim northern town but now he's still here with me. He's amazing to cope with his dads madness and just do it. The school was so shit. Didn't even have a Spanish teacher this year, a standin who didn't know Spanish. Only 6 in his class passed and he got a 9!!
I hired a local 6th former to tutor him for that one. She's got a bottle of champagne on the way, what a girl.

This community has done so much for me and by extension ds. It's amazing.
Next stop a vg college, then he wants to go to oxford and do history.
My working classness screams 'medicine medicine medicine' as does my mixed raceness and general lack of confidence but I tell those bitches to stfu. He must follow his heart.

He's going to be so posh isn't he?!? 😂😂😂😂😂

Be very very proud . I love stories like this your son sounds amazing coping with everything. He deserves all the praise possible and hopefully his work ethic will hold him in good stead for the rest of his life. Well done him and well done you for being his support and having his back for the last 16 years . Enjoy this time!

EL8888 · 23/08/2019 22:24

Congratulations! That’s amazing and you deserve to be proud

From a fellow northerner and someone who is dyspraxic

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2019 22:24

He might be pm. Any chance he can start now, defer his studies for a few months while he sorts out our politicians?
