Can I show off and be shameless here? I can't in real life

I have had a very tough time recently, dh has had a nervous breakdown, my dad who has always been abusive hit a new low and we're NC. My mum emigrated and it's just been so hard.
But ds got 11 level 9s and and A** in further maths yesterday and I am so so proud. He is severely dyspraxic and had oral dyspeptia which went undiagnosed until he was 4 which severely affected his speech. I was told he had SEN and he was put in a special group, I knew he was frustrated and moved his school then home schooled. He went to the local comp for secondary, it was on special
Measures, he was bullied but here we are.
I am so proud of my boy. I could burst.
As a working class northerner I will be ostracised for rl showing off, so can I be shameless here?
Sorry to anyone I annoy, I just need an outlet! Mn has helped me so much over the years with ds, dh and just life. Thank you all so much SmileSmileSmile

So happy for you! You can't say it out loud but I can: amazingly, brilliant and gifted - woohoo!!!!

We watched 'the accountant' which was very violent and ridiculous but we all enjoyed it.

He's confirmed History, Maths and Spanish at college and an EQP. Is Eng lit A Level a wasted opportunity? I do not know. He doesn't want to have to memorise books again but he got mark off full marks in paper 2 of Eng lit and full marks on eng lang so should he be doing it?

Sorry, mad mother freaking out here, ignore! Grin

I did English Lit at A level and loved it. It was really enjoyable and was a nice break from the intensity of A levels.

My DD was very good at Eng Lit, but then realised she just doesn't like the pressure of reading that much - so decided not to do it and doesn't regret it one bit. There is a lot of reading, both the "books" and other books around the books.
Some people do "fluke" very high marks in one Eng Lit paper - a friends DD did so at AS (she says this loudly), she was then treated like an undiscovered genius only to get very ordinary marks at A'level.
