Can I show off and be shameless here? I can't in real life

I have had a very tough time recently, dh has had a nervous breakdown, my dad who has always been abusive hit a new low and we're NC. My mum emigrated and it's just been so hard.
But ds got 11 level 9s and and A** in further maths yesterday and I am so so proud. He is severely dyspraxic and had oral dyspeptia which went undiagnosed until he was 4 which severely affected his speech. I was told he had SEN and he was put in a special group, I knew he was frustrated and moved his school then home schooled. He went to the local comp for secondary, it was on special
Measures, he was bullied but here we are.
I am so proud of my boy. I could burst.
As a working class northerner I will be ostracised for rl showing off, so can I be shameless here?
Sorry to anyone I annoy, I just need an outlet! Mn has helped me so much over the years with ds, dh and just life. Thank you all so much SmileSmileSmile

First post I've read today - and the best one I've read in ages!

Delighted for your son - behind every good man... you are amazing as well, I'm sure he wouldn't have achieved it without you ❤️

Well done to your son, what a fantastic result. You must be so proud and be wanting to shout the good news from the rooftops.

That's amazing! ⭐

AlbertWinestein · 24/08/2019 16:09

I’m sat waiting for my kids in the car reading this with tears. Which is a bit embarrassing as I’ve got the roof down Blush

Congrats to you and your fantastic son

CookieDoughKid · 24/08/2019 16:09

That is just darn brilliant. Your boy must have also worked his socks off and well done him. Please don't let that Northern attitude hold you both back. It's ok to relish being good at something in real life and fuck those who don't appreciate good effort and results. Very well done indeed. What's next for him?

CookieDoughKid · 24/08/2019 16:10

Are you thinking about Oxbridge or top Russell group Uni's dare I ask?!

proudmudda · 24/08/2019 17:00

Thank you all so much. He's flabbergasted at all this praise 😁

I got the actual bit of paper with the results on today. So proud.

Ahhhhh DS has cracked and cried and asked why his DF isn't proud of him. Its such a shame. We're going to watch a film and just enjoy ourselves. :)

Why would anyone judge you for showing off in RL? It's an amazing achievement. Show off as much as you want. If you were one of my friends I would support you shouting from the rooftops

MrsIronfoundersson · 24/08/2019 20:05

Bloody brilliant, well done to your ds, I hope he is very proud of himself. Onwards and even further upwards!

Contraceptionismyfriend · 24/08/2019 20:16

Tell him it's jealously as he's clearly inherited his mothers brains.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 24/08/2019 20:22

Well done your ds. What an amazing achievement - he must have been incredible dedicated. Commitment will get him very far in life. I'm sorry his dad can't be happy for him.
