Can I show off and be shameless here? I can't in real life

I have had a very tough time recently, dh has had a nervous breakdown, my dad who has always been abusive hit a new low and we're NC. My mum emigrated and it's just been so hard.
But ds got 11 level 9s and and A** in further maths yesterday and I am so so proud. He is severely dyspraxic and had oral dyspeptia which went undiagnosed until he was 4 which severely affected his speech. I was told he had SEN and he was put in a special group, I knew he was frustrated and moved his school then home schooled. He went to the local comp for secondary, it was on special
Measures, he was bullied but here we are.
I am so proud of my boy. I could burst.
As a working class northerner I will be ostracised for rl showing off, so can I be shameless here?
Sorry to anyone I annoy, I just need an outlet! Mn has helped me so much over the years with ds, dh and just life. Thank you all so much SmileSmileSmile

Amazing results! You show off all you want, rightfully so.

BanningTheWordNaice · 23/08/2019 23:20

That’s so fab, bet he worked hard and you worked hard to support him :) I hope everything else in your life improves!

JudefromJersey · 23/08/2019 23:20

I hope when times are tough in the future you remember moments like this as being reason for ploughing on. Well done to your boy, all the more impressive given the shit school and his own challenges. No wonder you’re so proud.

Well done to your DS. I am very proud of DD whose results were nearly as good. Don't feel guilty and tell as many people as you want. My DD is usually reticent but decided to share her results of social media as she is proud of her achievements. If it were a sporting achievement, most people would share, so why are we coy about academics? Top grades take effort no matter how 'able' the young person.

Amazing! And pah to those in real life who wouldn’t applaud such good grades. I’d be bursting with pride if my kids had got scores like these

A lovely post to read, congratulations from a working class Scot ( who spent the first term at her posh uni course not being understood by anyone many years ago)

I'm on the wine and have slightly lost the plot, hysterical. OMG
