Why is drag so popular now?

Genuine question. I have seen lots of posts on a Facebook this morning about attending some drag queen event. Mostly women and several bringing their teens ( both sexes)

It seems really popular but I have no idea why or what people going get out of it? Is it comedic or fashion or something else.

Yep. I bet she does. A drag queen taking the piss out of her vagina on national telly.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/08/2019 16:05

I wonder if she is allowed to mention their penis?

howwudufeel · 21/08/2019 16:23

You really believe that Cheryl Cole is guest judging on RuPauls Drag Race because she is hard up Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/08/2019 16:25

Her career isn’t exactly stellar is it? I assume she wants to ‘be a star’ or something like that rather than ‘weren’t you that woman that was in the tv pop band?’

Are you serious? She is working less because she is looking after her DS who’s dad is a member of One Direction. I really don’t believe she has sleepless nights about the cost of childcare.

howwudufeel · 21/08/2019 16:35

Had a look and apparently she’s worth £20m and her ex is worth £90m. Like I said, no sleepless nights over the cost of childcare

People like this can be terribly ego-driven rather than money driven.

Cheryl hole

Nice

Typical man laughing at a woman, about her sexuality, the number of sexual partners she's had. That's how it reads to me.

Or that she's a cunt.

Men calling women holes is old as the hills.

How is this progressive? I suppose it's progress for men who like to do this, at the expense of women. Well that's not a new story either.

howwudufeel · 21/08/2019 19:09

I have honestly never heard a man refer to a woman as a hole. I have heard a lot of other very unpleasant words, but never home.

Refer to us as holes then

Stick it in her hole
Any hole's a goal

You may have heard that?

Fraggling · 21/08/2019 19:44

Cum bucket means slapper and is used in porn descriptions.

Fraggling · 21/08/2019 19:45

I mean men in the pub use it to mean slapper

In porn descriptions it's more literal

What irritates me is that the porn industry takes normal phrases and gives them crude meanings that are not nearly so well known among women /girls and then they use them innocently and the boys/ men all smirk and the woman /girl knows there's a joke but not what it is.

Facial is probably the best example.

Probably another thread. But certainly the innuendo in drag revolves around male sexual vocabulary. Eg Cheryl hole.
