I just used a sieve to dry my hair...

And it did a better job on my curls than a defuser ever has. More volume and better definition!

I really didn't expect much from it but I hate my hair drying naturally, it's long, thick and the dc think it's great fun to pull out of my scalp. My defuser met its demise under my toddlers arse, thank god for nappy cushioning! And I found this DIY on good old google. Think I'll stick with the sieve method now! 😂

It's been shoved in a ponytail to keep sticky fingers out. Rather pleased with it

How did you dry your hair with a sieve?

INeedNewShoes · 16/08/2019 16:05

Is it a case of putting your hair in the sieve then putting it on your head and blow drying it?

Basically @INeedNewShoes. Dangled hair in, scooped it up to the head and blasted with the hairdryer. Took all of 10 mins.

I need to know what you did! I have hair like you and can't be bothered to diffuse but this looks interesting!

SpamChaudFroid · 16/08/2019 16:09

I shall be nicking this, thanks Smile

sawyersfishbiscuits · 16/08/2019 16:09

Wow, I'm going to need a bigger sieve! Wondering if a cullender would work...?😆

Cuppa12345 · 16/08/2019 16:09

So the hairdryer dried your hair but the sieve acted as a defuser. Good work, I will try this!

SpamChaudFroid · 16/08/2019 16:11

Was it a plastic sieve? Or a metal one, (bad for the hair I'd think)

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 16/08/2019 16:17

Yeah, okay, technically the hairdryer dried my hair but typing 'I dried my hair with a hairdryer' didnt seem to have the right impact Grin

I did consider running around the house with the sieve on my head to airdry but it felt like too much exercise a bit too much tinfoil hat for my liking. WinkConfused

Wow your hair looks absolutely beautiful!
What kind of sieve? I only have a metal one?!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 16/08/2019 16:19

Bog standard metal sieve from Wilcos I believe.

Ooh I'm trying this 👌

YouJustDoYou · 16/08/2019 16:29

Oh my god, I'm trying this.

Funguy · 16/08/2019 16:29

But where is your head? Is this not a wig?Do you not have a head?

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 16/08/2019 16:35

@Funguy yes I have a head, and no it's not a wig Hmm it's an awkward picture of the back of my head while hair is in a ponytail.

It's also not a perm, and no you can't touch it... 😂

Would it not get hot and burn you? Maybe not the mesh bit, but the edge/rim?

Your curls look fab though!

DontCallMeShitley · 16/08/2019 16:38

Do you mean a cookery seive like you use for flour? I didn't think they were made in head size.

Or a colander for straining things? Seems more likely

Or a garden sieve for removing stones from soil? You would need a very flat head for this one.

I twist my hair in knots and clip it out of the way when it is part dry but it isn't as good as yours so am going to get the spare colander out.

glittertissues · 16/08/2019 16:38

Just replying to say your hair is gorgeous!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 16/08/2019 16:49

The magical sieve...

I just used a sieve to dry my hair...

Why did I picture a colander? I couldn't understand how it worked Grin I'm not ready to adult yet...

Your hair looks amazing btw!

PanamaPattie · 16/08/2019 16:55

I thought of colander - which is not the hair sieve. It makes more sense now.

Flibbitygibbit · 16/08/2019 17:20

I'm doing the curly girl method and now not even drying my hair with a dryer.washed it last night around 6:00 pm still damp this morning but great curl definition today ! Great idea ... will try it !

CassandraCross · 16/08/2019 17:26
