I just used a sieve to dry my hair...

And it did a better job on my curls than a defuser ever has. More volume and better definition!

I really didn't expect much from it but I hate my hair drying naturally, it's long, thick and the dc think it's great fun to pull out of my scalp. My defuser met its demise under my toddlers arse, thank god for nappy cushioning! And I found this DIY on good old google. Think I'll stick with the sieve method now! 😂

Going to try this today. I must check how clean our very rarely used sieve is - visions of a puff of flour floating around the house.

My hair is much shorter than TheBabyAteMyBrain's. I will report back

Your curls are gorgeous! I'll try this next time I get to wash and blow dry. Not often.
@Fiontar649, did it work for you?

CottonSock · 17/08/2019 14:38

It looks lovely. My hair is half curly and half straight and a bloody big pain

TheBabyAteMyBrain I understand you're not doing CGM any more but just a heads up that the Aldi conditioner's formula appears to have changed recently and now contains silicones - just something to consider if you find it doesn't work as well as it used to.

This blog post has a list of readily-available low-cost CGM products available in the UK, if you need an alternative.

I'm currently sitting with my hair plopping... forget this! Off to get the sieve out the cupboard.

@TheInvestigator please report back if it worked for you!

OohthatlovelyNigelfromBabyClub it worked! I don't think I spent long enough doing it, to get a nice bit of volume - I was tight on time today - but it definitely looked more curly than normal

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 17/08/2019 23:52

Woo!! All hail the sieve!

I'm like the others up thread- immediately visualized a colander!!! Grin

StayInYourLaneBoy · 18/08/2019 08:48

I was in the curly girl group on Facebook and a few did this, I'm starting to lose my curls now and it's growing straight so might try it now for some extra oomph before my curls disappear forever
Gorgeous curls OP

It went a bit flat on top; I don't think I separated into enough sections.
My hair is longer at the back and doesn't curl as well, the sieve didn't change that much! I do need a couple inches chopped off and then It might be better. The girls around my face and sides are lovely and bouncy!!

Today's effort.

My toddler now likes to walk about the house with cookware on his head 😂

I just used a sieve to dry my hair...
