what time do your dc start and finish school?

Just that really, though it would be interesting to see.

I was chatting to a friend of mine in the USA and her dc start school at 8.30 and finish and finish at 3.30 and they have an hour lunch.

I’m in Ireland and my dc start primary school at 8.40, finish at 2.20 they have a half hour for lunch
The school I work in starts at 9.00 and finishes at 2.40 (half hour lunch break)

What are your dc’s hours and what country are you based in?

Primary school DC in North Yorkshire. Start at 8:50, finish at 3:20.

8am - 4pm (Private school)

8:25-3:25 Secondary School, SE England

8:50 - 3:50 Mon - Thurs finish 12:30 on Friday. West Lothian, Scotland

8:45 to 2:45 - nursery
8:45 to 3pm - rest of school.

And I'm in Wales.

8.50am to 3.15pm. Primary school in England.

In my kids school northwest England
Reception-Yr2 8.50-3.15
Yr3-6- 8.50-3.30
High school 8.40-3.10
Dont know about lunches or breaks though

8.35 am - 2.50pm with half an hour for lunch. Mid Bedfordshire.

West Country, primary school. 8.55-3.15. 1 hour lunch break (dd thinks!)

UK prep school.
8.20am - 5pm. They also have clubs afterwards so kids can also stay till 7pm or even do Flexi boarding.

There's also Sat am 830 - noon
The clubs and Flexi have a huge take-up, they do however have long weekends couple times a term, finish on a Thurs, go back Mon.

Oh hour for lunch and 3 breaks, with snacks and drinks provided

Infants 8.45 - 3.15 / Juniors 9.00 - 3.30

Staggered like that as they're not on the same site and accept lots of parents have to walk between the two schools for drop off and pick up

Primary - 8.50-3.15 (can drop them off from 8.40)
Secondary - 8.40-3.40
England

8.50 to 240 with I think a 40 min lunch. Ireland.

8.30 - 3.30 Mon-Thurs, 8.30 -12.30 Fri (secondary, Scotland)

I wish they'd let them start and end the day later - teenagers are not natural early risers and I think they'd get more out of them if they started at 10.

8.45 with an hour at lunch and finish 3.20.

Meant to add that's a Kent primary school.

Primary 8.55 - 3.15
Secondary 8.55 - 3.20

@TheGirlOnTheLanding it would make no difference at all as it would just become the norm and then they would go to bed later. They just need to go to bed at the right time. At LEAST 10 hours sleep.

Ireland. They've to be in for 9.10 and classes start at 9.20. Finished at 2 (3 next year).
