what time do your dc start and finish school?

I was chatting to a friend of mine in the USA and her dc start school at 8.30 and finish and finish at 3.30 and they have an hour lunch.

I’m in Ireland and my dc start primary school at 8.40, finish at 2.20 they have a half hour for lunch
The school I work in starts at 9.00 and finishes at 2.40 (half hour lunch break)

UK grammar school - 8.45 to 3.30 with an hour lunch

Secondary
Monday and Thursday 8.50-3.50, 50 minute lunch
Tues, wed, fri, 8.50-3, 50 minute lunch.

9-3, 45 minute lunch

Irish primary school - start 8.45, infants finish at 13.25, rest of school at 14.25. Don't have a clue how long they get for lunch tbh ☺️

9.20am - 3pm Ireland. Absolutely no idea how long they get for lunch!

Irish schools get half hour lunch afaik

Primary in Scotland, 9am to 3pm.

Secondary - two long days 8.50 to 3.55 and three short days 8.50 to 3.05.

Youngest is in primary and his hours are 9 - 3 with 45 mins for lunch (his last school was 9 - 3.15 with an hour for lunch)

Eldest is in secondary and his school starts at 8.45 and ends at 3.40 3 days a week and 2.50 the other 2 days. He gets 40 minutes for lunch.

Uk - Primary was 8.30 - 4 Monday to Thursday and 8.30 - 12.30 on Fridays ( could drop off at 8 though ) After school clubs available on all days . Secondary 8.30 ( but they could enter at 8 ) - 4 Monday to Friday inclusive . Both private schools .

*Infants: 8:45 - 3:00

Juniors: 8:25 - 2:45

with 50 mins for lunch

This school sounds ver accomidating of working parents who have 1 child in infants and the other in juniors what a stupid idea!

P2 in Scotland 8:45 to 3:05 Monday to Thursday. 12:15 finish Fridays.

That’s the way it works in Ireland too, fit the first two years they finish an hour earlier. Last year my dd finished at 1.20, this year she finishes at 2.20 🤣

@Youmadorwhat that would drive me up the wall and I'd probably loose my job for putting in bloody flexible working requests every year!!!

8:30-4 with an hour for lunch, prep school in Norfolk.

SW England secondary school, starts at 8.40am (expected to be in school grounds 5 mins before that) and finishes 3.05pm, 30 min break in morning and 40 minute lunch.

In common with most schools round here, they have a late lunch so they have four lessons before lunch and two afterwards.

Primary - 8.50 to 3.20. Think 50 mins lunch and morning/afternoon 15min breaks in ks1 and just 15mins pm break in ks2.

Dd secondary - 8.20 to 3.10 tues to thurs and 8.20 to 4.10 on Monday. 40 min break.

Ds1 secondary - 8.10 to 2.50. 40 min lunch break.

No before or after school club on W&F. No lunch time cover or facilities, Dc come walk home alone home to eat. Plus 20 minute morning break time. South of Germany.

We’re in England; both DC at secondary school. Starts at 8:50 and ends at 3:25. Think that lunch is 50 min. Also a 20 min morning break.

South East Primary 8.50-3.10 with a 15 minute break in the morning and 55 minutes for lunch.

Primary gates open 8.40am. official start is 8.50 finishes 3.30pm. a morning break and an hour for lunch at 12.30pm.
DS1 secondary starts 8.30am finishes 2.50pm. they have 2 x 30 min breaks
DS2 secondary 8.50am - 3.20pm. 2 x 30 min breaks
