Which I haven’t really done for a long long long long time. Prechildren probably 🥴

Wow it looks disgusting. I can’t get it out of my mind. DP was being very amorous last night and I didn’t want him near me as I’m so embarrassed.

I did have to look because I was bleeding from my backside (piles) and needed to know how bad the situation was back there. I have no reason to think I’ve got a prolapse or anything and my pelvic floor is very good, I can run, laugh, sneeze with no accidents. I don’t know though, does a post baby vagina/vulva look a lot different to a pre baby one?

Pre children some 25 years ago I never looked at mine so wouldn't know the difference. I do not think I am unusual, we did not obsess with our bodies so much back then.

MrsGrammaticus · 09/08/2019 20:43

I'm x 2 C sections and mines no oil painting. The inner labia kind of stick out which is ugly. I think they continue growing with age....a bit like men's ears, so by the time you're quite old they're practically like elephants ears. ☹️

OrangeSwoosh · 09/08/2019 20:45

My husband felt compelled to go and have a look when there was a baby's head hanging out. He saw it in all its shredded glory. He apologised very sincerely ("I'm so, so sorry") and said he'd understand if I never wanted sex again 😂

Had a coil fitted when my DS was 6 weeks old (he's now 42) Fucking GP said 'Wow, it's like a cavern in here' Gee thanks you twat, I was 21 and 6 weeks post birth, I didn't need to hear that.

Had another daughter, then a divorce and quite a few relationships since then and only one twat ever had a problem. His ex had had 2 CSs and he said mine felt different (couldn't come) I told him I was used to bigger so was struggling too - and finished it. Grin

Bellasblankexpression · 09/08/2019 20:49

I have a horrible mole down there which seems to have become even uglier during pregnancy - and now I have the whole birth thing to look forward to...

Maybe I should appreciate the undercarriage while I still can, mole ‘an all?

Justmuddlingalong · 09/08/2019 20:50

Reminds me of a joke told by a comedian back in the day.
Wife says to her husband, 'I'm thinking of getting a coil fitted.'
Husband says 'With a fanny like that, ye could get a carpet fitted.'

costacoffeecup · 09/08/2019 20:51

I didn't know what it looked like before. It doesn't feel any different! But I've had a lot of stitches so it could be a horror show I guess. I can't say it's high up on my worry list to be honest.

StripeySocks29 · 09/08/2019 20:53

I don’t think I’ve ever looked at it, I’ve never looked at anyone else’s either so I’m not sure I’d know if it looked as it should or not. Some things it’s better not to think about.

floppybit · 09/08/2019 20:53

I used to have a very neat one pre DCs, but I've had a good look with a hand mirror since and was horrified to find that I have a fanny like a dropped kebab.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 09/08/2019 20:56

Double dare you to post this again in AMA Grin

HappyHippy45 · 09/08/2019 20:56

I've been with my husband for over 25 years. Our eldest is 24.

We were speaking about tearing and episiotomy (got knows why) last week and he was surprised when I mentioned I had some tearing.....he'd forgotten and never noticed.....pretty sure most guys are like that.....don't worry about it

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/08/2019 20:58

Mine looks like an adult woman's vulva/vagina, which us how it's supposed to look.
I'm fine with it, and the only other person who gets to see it is more than happy with it tooGrin

Hmmmbop · 09/08/2019 21:02

YouKnowOneDayAtATime same as it matters what any part of us looks like. We like to like how we look. I can't see my arse unless I look in a mirror, it is comfy to sit on and I poop out of it so it "works" but I'd still like it to look nice.

Socksontheradiator for me it isn't about it looking 'perfect' but looking like mine. Post baby, I don't recognise it. It doesn't look or feel like it used to, seems foreign and wrong to me now, which makes me sad.

SeaToSki · 09/08/2019 21:03

I am very serious when I say that I think its why we have pubic hair - to hide the strangeness of it all, male and female. Im just glad Im not a baboon, talk about having it all out on show!

Summerunderway · 09/08/2019 21:06

Socksonaradiator don't you mean a flap-pant comment??

JinglingHellsBells · 09/08/2019 21:12

@Justmuddlingalong It's stoking the fire- not poking Grin Stoking as in making it putting more coal on to make it go more!

PolaDeVeboise · 09/08/2019 21:13

Don't know nor care what it looked/looks like before or after, I am a whole lot more than a sexual organ!

Justmuddlingalong · 09/08/2019 21:14

Well on this thread, I'm sticking with poking. 😁

Lovemusic33 · 09/08/2019 21:22

I looked at mine after birth and called my mum straight after in tears. I had a huge clot under my stitches and it looked like my inners were falling out, I think it scared me for life and I haven’t looked since.

SpeedyShutter · 09/08/2019 21:24

Mine has a scar from where they cut me when dc2 was born and a varicose vein, as well as a slight prolapse. I also have internal scarring from when I had a cancerous area removed from my cervix. Above that I have my delightful cs overhang. I look a right sight down there, a million miles away from when I was younger and pre dc and pre cancer. I don't care though, because I'm alive and well. Dh still finds me attractive and it still does its job.

Sandybval · 09/08/2019 21:26

I haven't looked since a few days after birth, it looked pretty cool but also a bit scary. I don't mind now as it's amazing what my body went through and if some bits are a bit more dangly than once were all good as it feels okay which is the main thing. The nurse doing my smear didn't run away screaming either so it must be within normal limits.

AllTheCakes · 09/08/2019 21:27

Mine oddly looks better post birth Wink. I had an ECS so no tearing or anything. My labia minora was quite large and dangly pre birth (sorry for the TMI!) and after birth it shrunk and is much neater! I do have a huge scar though so swings and roundabouts...

OhTheRoses · 09/08/2019 21:31

Hmm two non instrumental births although one was close. Mine looks absolutely fine. But I have a repaired prolapsed bladder and a rectocele which is significant and a weakened anal sphincter. Go figure.

All was well for manyyears because fundamentally I am/was v strong. I shall be encouraging my dd to have and ecs and wish I'd had them.

Women are not availed of informed evidence based information rdlating to vaginal childbirth. For women like me it might have been irrelevant a few generations ago when women, or few women, reached 50+

BreconBeBuggered · 09/08/2019 21:41

Agree with the comment about pubic hair - I think mine definitely benefits from a light haze of blonde curls obscuring the crucial points of interest. Much prettier than the bald truth lying underneath. I don't bother to inspect the damage myself, and the only non-medical person who gets near my undercarriage is deeply appreciative.

Summerunderway · 09/08/2019 21:41

I have many dc and have on a few occasions have been asked if my fanny is like a welly top?
My dh is quick to defend my honour - and fanjo- bless him..
Cheeky fuckers ..
