Cock. Sitting in the doctor's surgery earlier, Mrs (first name) Cock appeared on the board and I couldn't help wondering why you would willingly change your name to it or similar when you have the choice to keep your own name. Would you?

My DH’s surname isn’t offensive in any way but I really don’t like it so I kept my own.

I worked in a bank counter with a very prim and prissy woman, who hated what she deemed to be vulgar language.

One day, she had to call across to a customer who had been waiting for something, his name was Glasscock. Well, she wasn’t going to say that, so called for Mr Glassock, at which he announces very loudly ‘It’s Glasscock’. I could have cheered.

Mr Onions, on the other hand, insisted it was pronounced O’Nions.
