I've fucked up my bathroom. Help me fuck it up more?

So it needed repainting. I stupidly let my son choose the colour. He is SO proud of himself and loves it. It looks the the changing rooms of our local shit council swimming pool.

It's absolutely fucking awful

So. Do I add white blinds, wooden blinds to help soften it?

Or do I throw EVERYTHING into the fuckit bucket and get hot pink blinds and flamingo the fuck out of it?

have voile curtains in dark blue than all the light coming in will be darker & it will tint the beige tiles too (she suggests helpfully :) )

White tile paint and a new loo seat and I think it would be tolerable.

I would go mad with the plants, maybe get some Mexican or Indian style hangings on the walls, flamingoes, little mirrored boxes, the works

Also lots of gold things. Go for broke!

I like the colour! But you need white tiles. And to do this cheaply you need Wilko tile paint.
I was a non believer in this, but I'm looking at my formerly disgusting terracotta kitchen tiles, which I painted a year ago with said tile paint and they look brill!

My bathroom is this colour and i love it haha. We have a pastel blue loo seat from b+q and a full length mirror to bounce the light a bit. Everything else is white and pale grey

Someone else suggested this and I agree: lots of plants. They always soften and bring life to a room. The blue is quite flat and stark. I like a bit of clutter in a room to stop it looking too clinical. Good luck 🙂

I don't think it's that bad! Lots of white accessories will detract from the teal.

Or you could llama the drama out of it?

I’ve recently painted my bathroom that colour, love it! Maybe doesn’t go too well with the tiles, my tiles, floor, shower panels etc are 40 shades of grey. Wooden blind to draw the tiles and walls together?

My spare room is this colour but with one white wall and white bedding. But it is a big and light room. Soz not much help!

It’s not that bad but pine loo seats are definitely out and darken the room. You’ll be really surprised what a difference a white loo seat will make.

I’ve realised from reading this thread that I need a bathroom flamingo. Also a disco toilet but DH would never agree —I’ll just do it when he’s out—

The bottom line is, painted tiles look shit.

If I replace the tiles, then I need to replace the bath as I need a full length one and to get rid of that annoying shelf bit at the end (currently tiled!). A new bath is a ballache as the taps are tricky to cut, and then I'd have to have the floor retiled too, to allow for the new bath. See how one job would make the entire thing have to be redone?

I haven't got a spare £2k for that yet, so I'm stuck with the tiles.

Hi, op. You don’t need to change anything, it can all be easily saved. But not by flamingoes😁. As a rule brown does go with blue so your tiles/walls combination is not too bad. You just should add more colours, only not any random ones (certainly NOT PINK, so bye bye flamingoes). Get some yellow, orange and red accessories, attempt a mexican mood.
It could be fun pulling it together.

I blame whoever chose the colour, and if the kid, why didn't you tell him what colours to get?

If not that 1, then a pot of egg shell in a well ventilated bathroom will be fine (and cheaper than bathroom paint) and repaint it... Make the boy do it again... Esp if he got the colour! Along the lines... You screwed up ya cockwomble, now you got to paint it again, and hand over the paint. Simples 😜

You even don’t need to change the toilet seat. Just add something wooden to match it, like similar colour wood framed mirror. Any wooden ornaments/accessories in fact will help the colourful mexican theme.

It's nothing that a matching novelty toilet seat can't help with!

The colour can work - not sure if this link works as it's an old one but this would be my dream bathroom

White blinds, white toilet seat. If you get a a small pattern on the white blind that picks up the teal colour in the walls.

I would go whole hog and make it a stitch themed bathroom personally. White blind, turq toilet seat. Stitch wall stickers.

I really don't think it's that bad, this is going to be controversial, but I would go all out and paint the ceiling too. Embrace it, add hanging plants, wooden accessories, some artwork, it could look fab....

Get lots of plants in there. It'll look lush.
