I’m staying in and getting loads of washing done

BigGlasses Let's swap houses for the day. You can have mine in East Lothian, where it's 32C in the garden right now, and I'll go and enjoy the haar.

Today I am mostly whining.

We are at an ice rink. It's freezing. Wearing a jumper and swigging hot coffee.

Sitting in my office at the back of the garage with the door to the garden closed and the door to the cool garage open. Coolest place to be in my whole house. I am "working".

DS1(14) had a friend to stay over last night, they have just got up and wrecked the kitchen, and have sloped back upstairs again. I have suggested 4 things they can do, including watching a film or going swimming. They will of course do none of those things.

DS2 (12) has shingles poor love, feels awful and is still in bed, have popped head in to give him the fan and a cold gel pillow, anti histamine and nurofen and a glass of iced water.

My two black dogs are melting at my feet.

Absolutely nothing. I gave the postman and amazon driver a lolly though.

I went to Tesco as lovely air con in there,drive home was great too as air con in it.

Put some washing on ,did the dishwasher,tidied up a bit and now am in front of the fan with an I've block and won't be moving! Hate it this hot.

I walked the dog at 6am, I cleaned the bathroom and downstairs loo when I got back then had a long shower because I was frazzled. I watched the robovac clean the floors and I've washed all the cushion covers and throws and dried them in minutes. Apart from that I'm sitting in front of the fan and doing very little tbh.

Been out in the garden with the paddling pool for DS this morning, no washing and no cleaning today 🤫. DS has just asked for milk and boom gone to sleep so I'm currently MNing whilst DH sets up the bbq 😉

Baby has fallen asleep in the car so I'm sitting on the drive with the air con on. Might just live here until it cools down!

Sitting under the awning in the back garden feeling the sweat dripping off the back of my knees. DCs are watching You Tube videos. I have to wander down to the shop and get some stuff for lunch.

It’s 33 degrees here at the moment but meant to reach 36 later. There are clouds coming over so there is a tiny bit of a breeze.

Melting in my car, I am a domiciliary carer and every time I get back in to my car I want to cry! There doesn't seem to be anywhere shady to park either 😥

As little as possible. Contemplated a journey to the east coast where it's 10C cooler at a high of 22 but, alas, that would involve over an hour each way on a hot sticky bus. Even DS1 has refused to go further than the coop across the road, where we stocked up on ice lollies and I bought myself a rather tasty pre-made salad because our kitchen is hotter than hell and Ds2 won't keep the curtains in there shut. Just need to brave the garden to hang some sheets out to make the most of the heat before the storms arrive, late afternoon.

Sending dh to the chippy for dinner, tonight.

Taken the dog out ,lovely cool shaded woods a short drive away.Tiny shower out on the field .Very refreshing .Fan full blast O/N wet flannel on head ! not very fetching but wonderfully cool!

Been working in about 40 degree heat so I feel quite cool now! Going for a swim soon. Honestly I don't feel that hot but it's about 29 here now apparently.
Dp is lying in a dark room in his pants 😂he's from a hot country but totally can't handle the heat here at all.

Ds has four friends round to play seemed like a good idea at the time!! I've warned the parents that water will be involved and they'll need spare clothes then am hoping to throw them out in the garden with super soakers and a paddling pool. Fingers crossed they're well behaved.

Working

Yes getting loads of washing done, third lot already bought in. DS misheard me and has thrown down his mattress protector and everything, so just chucked it all in

I'm also prancing about the house in some new pumps and can't decide with or without gel insoles. Will be wearing on Sunday for most of the day

We have a pool (stealth boast 😂) almost everyone we know is ‘just popping in to say hello’

Freezing and boiling alternately, as can't get the hang of my office aircon!

Going to the beach with my friend. With the world and his wife no doubt

Hiding inside with my 10 month old then firing up the paddling pool when he wakes up from his nap for the afternoon !!

Day off today. I am about to read my kindle in the garden with a gin or two.

I went for a run first thing and didn’t die.
However it did take me well over 20 minutes to cool down even after my shower.

Since then I’ve been waiting in for deliveries, which have now all come so I’m off to sit at the bottom of the garden which is a woodland.

Staying in, toilet training my 3yo. Running to the loo with him every 5 minutes and changing pants every other time! Going to run out of pants!
