I can't sleeeeep its too hot

We live in a chalet bungalow, my two DS are fast asleep in the oldest, coolest part of the house (downstairs) I am upstairs in the crap extension which is too cold in the winter and traps all the heat in the summer. I am in vest and pants, have all the windows open, but its like an oven up here. I feel like I'm going to be awake all night. Aaagh its toooooo hot, should I just go down into the lounge and join the cats?

Yeah go downstairs. I'm also in a chalet bungalow but the kids are upstairs and I'm downstairs and it's fine down here (they are fine up there with all the windows open).

I'm in the loft room 😩. Did have both velux open but now the storm has arrived and it's like the roofs going to come off but still boiling and the noise 😱

I'm going to get a hot water bottle and fill it with cold. The fan on my head isn't doing a good job

I'm contemplating folding myself in to the chest freezer.
30c at this time of night is slightly ridiculous.

For the people that have the storms...where are you?

I'm baking. Don't want to leave the Velux open as I read the storm is coming here (London).

Thermometer in the bedroom says 27.7!

Oh nooo... just checked the forecast and we are due a storm later, and I've left some washing on the line!

I'm in South Wales.. I left the windows open for first 10 mins as didnt think it was that bad and have just been up mopping the windowsills! Cant see sleep coming tonight 🤦‍♀️ luckily I'm a teacher and dont have to get up for work tomorrow 😂

So glad the holidays came before today because my classroom is literally made of glass and has been 37degrees! Looks gorgeous but bloody stupid design 🤦‍♀️

I feel your pain! The kids went to bed late anyway, but DS1 is 9 and he fell asleep (finally) about 11pm.

We're watching telly because trying to sleep is pointless and even moving is too much in this heat.

Luckily I teach nursery/reception so we made a big den outside and did most teaching/snack/group times under our den of sheets!

I am so bored refusing to turn TV back on just want to sleep 😂. My fan is noisier than the storm!

Too hot here too. DD has insisted on getting in my bed because she's scared there might be thunder. She's asleep but she's making me approximately twice as hot.

Can i join you on the no sleep thread? It's 28.5 here. We're in Worcestershire and i'm watching flashes of lightning in the east but no thunder or rain yet. It's incredible to watch. Def no sleep tonight.. Although DS is fast asleep and DH angry i'm keeping him awake!

I now can't sleep because the sodding dog is panting so loudly it was keeping the kids awake so I've had to lock her in the lounge with me. I should be sympathetic but she's really pissing me off
