I can't sleeeeep its too hot

We live in a chalet bungalow, my two DS are fast asleep in the oldest, coolest part of the house (downstairs) I am upstairs in the crap extension which is too cold in the winter and traps all the heat in the summer. I am in vest and pants, have all the windows open, but its like an oven up here. I feel like I'm going to be awake all night. Aaagh its toooooo hot, should I just go down into the lounge and join the cats?

The design thing is mad....even some of the newer hospitals are hellish due to glass overload.

Don’t get me started in the overinsulation of a new build...mine isn’t even that new, twenty years? I hear the new new ones are worse.

So far we've had one lightning strike then one rumble of thunder about 15 minutes ago and that was it. I want the rain

I'm meltingly hot too. Just can't get comfortable! I hate any bit of my skin touching any other bit of my skin as it instantly turns to a puddle. No sign of a storm here either sweaty hot head!

We've had lightning for around ten minutes, seems to have surrounded the house. No rain and very quiet thunder rumbling in the distance.
There is NO air and yet DH is snoring!

The thunder is trying to pick up, still no rain!
I strained to listen then, got excited and realised it's my fan noise, not rain.
The thunder sounds like furniture moving, where are the massive rolling claps?

Oh god I’m so miserable. I haven’t slept hardly at all for a week since we adopted our little boy - constantly getting woken by the baby monitor but if I turn it off I can’t sleep for worrying I won’t hear him. Now our bedrooms are saunas, I’m awake staring at the screen and no doubt he’ll be up at the crack of dawn grumpy AF cos he won’t have slept properly. I can’t do two more nights of this - feel like I’m going to die!

The lightning is pretty apocalyptic, I've never seen a storm like it.
Still no rain, no air and no substantial thunder.

Gloucestershire amazing storm here, lightning lighting up whole sky thunder and torrential rain. I’ve got fans on and ice pops stuffed down my pj top, it’s sooooo hot.

Amazing lightning and lots of rain in Glos. Just had to wake up DH (in the spare room) to get him to close the velux - I’d said to leave it for the airflow, despite the forecast storm, but it was raining in rather a lot.

Our nervous cat is being surprisingly chill about it; I think the other one is out in it.

West Yorkshire here. My 4 year old is drenched with sweat bless her. 7 year old just got off to sleep. No lightening, also no air. No chance of sleep tonight.
