I was at an event today (trade show type thing) and on one stand was a huge HUGE bouquet of gorgeous flowers. You had to put your business card in for a chance to win them.

I won them!!

They're sitting on my coffee table and I'm not even watching TV, I just keep looking at these flowers and sighing because they're so beautiful. They're bringing me absolute joy just to look at them.

So, what visual things bring you joy??

@AndromedaPerseus

I'm in Zanzibar

UnicornPug · 23/07/2019 20:30

Monkey puzzle trees. They just make me happy. I’d love to own one.

BertieBotts · 23/07/2019 20:35

I love the sea as well. I have always wanted to live near it. I don't though!

Yes to own DC but it's when they are tiny really. I don't get the same feeling gazing at my 10yo as I do towards the baby. It's hormonal I think? It must be.

Line drawings or illustration in general that's been done by hand with fine detailing.

TanselleTooTall · 23/07/2019 20:39

Seeing chickens chase each other to steal the food.
Bees on flowers.
Standing on the beach and looking out.
Busy rockpools.

dementedma · 23/07/2019 20:41

Coloured glass jewellery. I have a disgraceful amount but love the colours.
Bubbles rising in a chilled glass of champagne
Birds going mad in the bird bath
A Sheila Fleet ring which I treated myself to and wear every day.
The lines and wrinkles on my elderly mother’s face.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/07/2019 20:42

My tattoo

Water - rivers, lakes, the sea, waterfalls, canals if I can't get natural!

Sunset

Lovely new notebooks and fountain pen ink

Yes to flowers

All the art hanging on my walls. It’s a mix of prints and originals, some that I commissioned, some painted by my lovely dad, some found in charity shops, all chosen because they had some sort of meaning or I just really loved them.

Lookinh at my daughter when she’s asleep. The most beautiful sight I have ever ever seen.

The amazing sea view in my home town in Ireland.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 23/07/2019 21:02

On holiday this year we saw a sunset that was actually all the colours of the rainbow. Where the red of the sun faded to orange and yellow, and the darkening sky was going from blue to purple. Where the blue and the yellow me was distinctly green. I’ve never seen that before it was amazing.

And fireflies, my new favourite thing.

mrsprefect · 23/07/2019 22:39

My horse. I think he's the most beautiful creature on the planet - especially in the late evening sunshine when his coat looks like it is alive with flames.

AntHilda · 23/07/2019 23:48

My beautiful children
My beautiful cats
Dogs and puppies (in fact most animals)
Amazing interior design
A nicely edged off lawn
Butterflies fluttering past
Traditional Christmas trees
Scottish bagpippers/Scottish weddings done the traditional Scottish way
Tartan (I'm not even Scottish Grin)
Beautiful architecture
Sunset and sunrise
Ladybirds
Flocks of birds flying
People showing affection to each other
The moon when it is full and low and bright
Autumn leaves
A freshly made bed
Loads really, I appreciate a lot of beauty in this world.

ProfessorofPerspective · 24/07/2019 00:16

This enormous lavender outside my front door. It's starting to go over now and I'm missing it already.

This thread is so beautiful, it's like poetry. And lots and lots on here I agree with. And congrats on winning the bouquet, OP.

But, unfortunately, Bloodycats and Compact ear wax removal reminded me that there nothing as beautiful as pus oozing from a freshly squeezed spot.

(my unreserved apologies to all PPs)

Sux2buthen · 24/07/2019 00:46

My 4 month olds extremely chunky legs. Lucky really as I'm sat in the dark looking at them while holding her praying she will let me put her down and have some sleep tonight

Pipandmum · 24/07/2019 00:56

These. Bought them yesterday and I can’t look at them without smiling.

When my two gorgeous doggies have been sniffing something on a walk and I've walked ahead - I turn round and see them running towards me with big happy grins on their faces. They've had troubled lives and it's taken me a long time (years!) to trust them off lead.

nocoolnamesleft · 24/07/2019 01:01

Sunset over water.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 24/07/2019 01:24

Victor Nizovtsev’s paintings

Batsypatsy · 24/07/2019 02:07

A real Christmas tree with white lights and lots of different baubles, i can remember where and when each was bought.

My garden - it's only tiny, a yard actually, but just seeing things grow and flower makes me happy, while I sit sipping my first coffee of the morning.

cheeseislife8 · 24/07/2019 02:28

Autumn leaves. There's a spot I walk my dog where you can see huge patches of trees across the valley and in autumn it's breathtakingly beautiful

Tavannach · 24/07/2019 03:44

trees, especially grand old dames that stretch up and up
toddler trainers
the bus coming round the corner after I've been waiting a while
horizons
loch lomond
garden flowers, especially roses
black and white photos

Namaste6 · 24/07/2019 05:08

My garden. Gardening. My dogs.

Oceanbliss · 24/07/2019 08:16

The sea, rivers, the way the water moves creating shifting patterns and how light sparkles on water.

Trees and how the sunlight reflects on the leaves how the wind moves through them.

Fireworks they always make me feel excited and happy.

My dd laughing.

Clouds

Sunset

Pebbles and shells

When I've finished cleaning and everything looks nice or finished a project and I like the look at it.

A nice haircut or new outfit I love.

Flowers and plants.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/07/2019 08:27

@UnicornPug we have two monkey puzzle trees over the road from us, they are incredible. When the branches fall off I send my dc over to retrieve them and keep them in a vase, I love the natural symmetry and woodiness of them.

Lajestic - what a wonderful win!

I love flowers, cats and sunsets and gorgeous green rolling hills and Parks- luckily we have a load in London! The river. Kids playing in parks (saw some school girls playing rounders the other day - only thing I enjoyed at school!!)

ICE CREAM

Freebies!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 24/07/2019 09:32

DGS's smile, the Tyne valley past Hexham, our local beach, so many things. A recent one is the horses' heads sculpture at Grangemouth. Somehow the artist has got "t'aint what a horse looks like, it's what a horse be "
