How do i find this toy? Help!

My twins are both autistic and attend a local nursery - one has become very attached to a set of toy animals, especially this poor seal who is very worse for wear after he’s chewed it to death.

He’s just handed me the PECS card for it (unheard of) and cried because I don’t have it. Nursery have said we can take it home but I’m worried it will get lost, and I’d like to buy some so we have similar ones at home, plus replacements for nursery.

I don’t even know how to search for it - it’s that sort of rubbery, soft foamy texture.

Any ideas? The only text on it says “made in China” 🤦‍♀️

I've never said this before but this thread should truly end up in classics to show just how fabulous Mumsnet can be. It's a great reminder that no matter how much shit we all have to deal with in our day to day lives people can take the time out to make a 2 year old they have never met so happy.

You’ve opened that communication door. It’s beautiful. He is generalising skills between locations, and getting the rewards for it. You’ve cracked the hard bit, only way is up!! Fabulous.

My own son uses pec cards but does have a few words.
He once lost his little plastic blue dog that he carries everywhere and kept showing me the pecs card with tears in his eyes 😢.
I couldn't find another anywhere so put an appeal on Facebook saying I would pay however much it cost if people had one willing to sell. Within days I had 23 different people offer to send me there's and they wouldn't even let me pay postage.
I just cried at the generosity of people and the sheer joy on my sons face as he was reunited with blu blu 😍.

Oh my lord him showing you the card with tears has had me blubbing away - I wanted to tell my OH how lovely this thread was but could only make little squeaky noises as I was all choked up.

I am so glad the kindness of strangers popped up when you needed it - makes me think things have a way of being ok in the end Thanks

That’s so lovely strongcoffee - its a relief when they have a way to communicate very simple requests but it doesn’t help with them understanding that not everything is available at all times!

Sometimes the internet is a terrible awful place, but for things like this it’s just incredible. People can be so kind and generous.
