Salt and vinegar crisps

worriedandannoyed · 20/07/2019 22:03

What's happened to these lately? I've had bag from multi packs from a few different supermarkets (own brand) plus a single bag of walkers the other day - and none of them have any flavour at all! Could always rely on Lidl for a pack of really strong ones but no, theirs are devoid of flavour too!

Where can I go for some proper crisps!!

Aldi do really good salt and vinegar kettle chips style ones that are better than kettle chips !

Rarfy · 20/07/2019 22:05

Salt and vinegar sticks are always mega tangy and the twirl ones usually sold in corner shops.

YesQueen · 20/07/2019 22:06

Seabrooks
Discos
The chip shop McCoy ones

Aldi used to do the best lattice style ones but they don't make them in salt and vinegar anymore Sad
Pringles always pack a little punch. Sometimes I add some extra vinegar to my crisps if they are a bit bland.

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 20/07/2019 22:09

All I want now is a packet of salt and vinegar crisps.

Sparklfairy · 20/07/2019 22:10

The co op posh ones are amazing

SingingMyOwnSpecialSong · 20/07/2019 22:11

Coop ones are really good. I stock up when they are on offer.

Magmatic80 · 20/07/2019 22:12

The Jacobs crinkle things are absolutely divine. Slightly greasy and really strong flavour.

pigaletta · 20/07/2019 22:12

My go-to is Golden Wonder, very strong flavour. Nothing worse than a weak packet!

thesnapandfartisinfallible · 20/07/2019 22:13

Golden Wonder can usually be relied on to burn your tastebuds off. Failing that: Discos. The big guns of salt and vinegar.

pigaletta · 20/07/2019 22:13

Omg I thought Co-op ones were all hype until I tried them, unfortunately my local doesn’t always have them in stock (better for my waistline though)

isabellerossignol · 20/07/2019 22:14

You need Northern Ireland Tayto crisps. All their flavours are really good. But obviously the downside is that if you're not in N Ireland they're hard to get, although I've heard rumours that they sell them in the 'world foods' aisle in some supermarkets in England!

Karwomannghia · 20/07/2019 22:15

Hmmm I’m obviously weird as I enjoy every packet of salt and vinegar crisps, by any brand, as if it were my first. The packet of walkers I had earlier was just delicious.

isabellerossignol · 20/07/2019 22:16

To clarify, I mentioned N Ireland because there are also Tayto in the rest of Ireland, but they're different. Still good though!

Owlettele · 20/07/2019 22:16

Tesco own brand. Really strong. About 77p for Multi pack

Karwomannghia · 20/07/2019 22:16

But I agree about discos. Proper tongue burn.

DownstairsMixUp · 20/07/2019 22:16

The ones in marks and sparks in a huge bag with all different shapes.

Harebel · 20/07/2019 22:17

Walkers are shit in any flavour.

Agree with PP the Co-op posh ones in Chardonnay vinegar are surprisingly old skool tangy perfection.

MustardScreams · 20/07/2019 22:18

Co op Chardonnay vinegar ones are excellent. Proper mouth-puckering.

Riverside85 · 20/07/2019 22:23

The co-op ones, once you’ve had them then your mouth waters when you just see a packet on the shelf. Like Pavlov’s dog.

troppibambini · 20/07/2019 22:24

I love discos and chip sticks are good too.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 20/07/2019 22:25

Co op posh ones.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 20/07/2019 22:27
