Salt and vinegar crisps

What's happened to these lately? I've had bag from multi packs from a few different supermarkets (own brand) plus a single bag of walkers the other day - and none of them have any flavour at all! Could always rely on Lidl for a pack of really strong ones but no, theirs are devoid of flavour too!

Where can I go for some proper crisps!!

McCoys are the strongest imo.

RezCowgirl · 20/07/2019 22:38

Jacobs crinkles, so sharp they give me brain freeze.

Another vote for the coop crisps

Forgot about discos, the thought of them is making my mouth water now! I'll definitely try the co-op ones as a few have recommended them. I love the Aldi big bags of kettle chip look-a-likes but once I've opened them I eat the whole bag!

This is my specialist subject😁

The co-op Chardonnay vinegar and sea salt ones are almost toooooo strong - they are my favourites.

Fish and chips (the wee biscuit things) are really strong too.

M&S chopsticks also good

Karwomannghia · 20/07/2019 23:28

Are the coop ones like crack? I think I may have had them.

Piffpaffpoff · 20/07/2019 23:28

CHIPSTICKS! Not chopsticks, that would be odd ...

Karwomannghia · 20/07/2019 23:28

Yes the m&s s&v mixture. Lethal.

Piffpaffpoff · 20/07/2019 23:29

Yes, in that they are addictive. They are like Tyrrell ones.

SwedishEdith · 20/07/2019 23:30

Came on to say co-op as well. But Square crisps or Discos aren't bad. And I like the pain of Pringles.

Hotterthanahotthing · 20/07/2019 23:31

Tesco kettle chips will remove the surface ofyour tongue if you really want salt and vinegar .Brilliant if you crave crisps when you're on a diet as eating a lot us painful.

hmwhatsmynameagain · 21/07/2019 00:00

Salt & vinegar squares are a poor replacement for s&v discos that I can't find anymore 😥

GreenTulips · 21/07/2019 00:03

M&S own brand in big bags - best crisps

cwg1 · 21/07/2019 00:10

Another vote for the Co-op.

Leggyfrog · 21/07/2019 00:15

Co-op chardonnay vinegar large bags are the daddy of all salt and vinegar crisps! I stock up when they are offer.

Rockbird · 21/07/2019 00:18

You're all mad. S&V crisps are the work of the devil. And I have two packets of Tayto S&V living in my cupboard if anyone is nearby!

Solo · 21/07/2019 00:22

"Where can I go for some proper crisps!!" Op, sadly I'm afraid the answer to your question is...back to the '70s...I'll join you!

Nat6999 · 21/07/2019 00:22

M & S salt & vinegar crisps haven't been the same for years, I used to buy their massive bags & inhale them. Nobody else's can match them, I only eat salt & vinegar pringles now.

EnidButton · 21/07/2019 00:29

I haven't had Discos for years! Really want some now. Do they still make Squares? They're so strong they almost hurt.

Horsemad · 21/07/2019 00:40

Tomorrow (today, even!) I am going to the Coop to try these crisps!!

EnidButton · 21/07/2019 00:59

Squares do still exist! I know what I'm buying tomorrow Grin walkers-snacks.co.uk/walkers-squares

LimitIsUp · 21/07/2019 01:27

https://realcrisps.com - these are to die for! Haven't found them in my local supermarket (Waitrose) - came across them at the pub, but I expect some supermarkets must stock them

TitilatedOcelot · 21/07/2019 01:40

Pipers or the ones from Pret. Walkers are just insipid in any flavour, they're too thin.

Bluesheep8 · 21/07/2019 07:43

I love the co p ones too. Salt and chardonnay vinegar in the green bag. Cheek-stingingly good!

icanhearapindrop · 21/07/2019 07:55

Absolutely the Co-op ones! They are the absolute best! I don’t buy them too often as they must be so unhealthy (and your mouth peels for days!) but they are such a treat.
