How long do you leave cards on display for?

It was my DD's birthday on 25 June and her birthday cards are cluttering up my mantelpiece. I really want to chuck them out but would I be mean to do so?

What's a "normal" / "acceptable" amount of time to leave them on display?

A month, as that's what there is between my kids birthdays (give or take a few days)

The last birthday was at the end of June, so now there's nothing till Christmas. They can stay there till then I suppose. Grin

One week rule in our house. Otherwise they'd just be there for ever and I'd be the crazy card house lady

A month 😂 but they aren’t in the way they are tucked around a door frame

Redshoeblueshoe · 19/07/2019 23:29

What is this dusting oof which you speak ?

Honeyroar · 19/07/2019 23:33

Two to three weeks, but I work away for a few days each week, so I'd barely see them if I only did a week!

My birthday was almost the same day as your daughters and the cards have been down a week now (and it was a big birthday!).

Ive just taken some Mothers day cards down to make room for tomorrow's birthday cards . Theyll stay up til DDs DDs Birthday in September, i expect. I like to be able to see them!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 20/07/2019 02:06

They just get left in a pile on the side, then recycled when I see them.

TheSandman · 20/07/2019 02:45

About ten minutes.

What IS fhe point? When my DD was born loads of people sent cards saying "It's.a Girl!". I had to be forcibly restrained from sending cards back saying: "I know! I fucking told YOU that!

I don't see the point of cards. I'll buy them for elderly relatives. But I keep birthday cards one day max and Christmas cards don't enter my mind.
