So I’m slowly rebuilding myself after (finally) getting the courage to leave and weirdly yesterday I found that playing certain songs really helped me feel less awful and more determined to ignore his messages. I’ve got
Christina - Fighter
Katy Perry - Roar
F* you - Lilly Allen
Bulletproof - La Roux
Enough cryin’ - Mary J Blige

What else do I need to get me through?

You Don't Own Me - either the classic version by Lesley Gore, an updated version by Whitney Rose or a modern urban twist by Grace feat.G-Eazy. Works on all levels.
A great revenge song - Before he Cheats by Carrie Underwood

Since so many of these are upbeat 'fuck you' type break up songs, I should add:

Blu Cantrell - Hit Em Up Style (Oops)

This is just a really fun upbeat one about selling all of your cheating man's shit!

On that note, I guess I should warn you, the Ben Folds and Pearl Jam ones I posted before are both specifically about finally breaking free from abusive relationships. They're both a bit heavy, but they're also hopeful and triumphant.

They both really resonated with me once I was finally free of an abuser and could see clearly again. Landed still makes me tear up to this day, many years later. But they may be more suited for a darker mood? I don't find them sad, but it's a sensitive subject.

I can remember really clearly a dance version of spiritual high (state of independence) and I played it endlessly but can find no trace of it on the internet and can’t remember who did it . Any ideas vipers?
