So I’m slowly rebuilding myself after (finally) getting the courage to leave and weirdly yesterday I found that playing certain songs really helped me feel less awful and more determined to ignore his messages. I’ve got
Christina - Fighter
Katy Perry - Roar
F* you - Lilly Allen
Bulletproof - La Roux
Enough cryin’ - Mary J Blige

What else do I need to get me through?

Over You - Doughtry

Chorus, I used to sing loud!

Well, I never saw it coming
I should have started running
A long, long time ago!
And I never thought I'd doubt you
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know
I'm slowly getting closure
I guess it's really over
I'm finally gettin' better
Now I'm picking up the pieces
From spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through, I got over you!

Fuck You by Lily Allen

Bloody Motherfucking Asshole by Martha Wainwright

Good luck x

poppym12 · 08/07/2019 17:48

Definitely P!nk 'So what'.

Another one that I found upbeat when divorcing my manchild was 'Go away and leave me alone' Angelic Upstarts. Its loud, it's sweary and probably not suited to a play list you might put on around family /children/anyone with delicate ears.

Anything that says you are happy & don't give a shit about your ex, I used to play mine full blast whenever I had to pick ds up from ex after access.

TerfOnTheWagon · 08/07/2019 18:18

'World Shut your mouth' Julian Cope
'Go your own way' Fleetwood Mac
'I love it' Icona Pop

All great for singing screaming really loud Grin
All the best for your brighter future Thanks

"The potential break up song" by aly and aj.
And then basically the whole album of theirs "insomniatic".

Its young style but it's so good for a break up!

ErrmWTAF · 08/07/2019 18:28

"Baby I Don't Cry Over You", sung by Billie Holliday.
