So I’ve always had a thing about my legs, it’s where I carry the most weight but from the side they look huge .., but I’d that normal?

I can grab some fat on it but it almost doesn’t seem like loads?

NoBaggyPants · 08/07/2019 14:05

Yes, it's fat. We all have some, we wouldn't be healthy without it.

That angle is never going to be flattering. You're perfectly fine.

Exmoor · 08/07/2019 14:05

Ok. I am going to get some flack for this but Tbh yes. How old are u? The longer you leave it, the harder it is to lose.

Biscusting · 08/07/2019 14:06

I think you just look on the curvy side, nothing wrong with that.

Unshriven · 08/07/2019 14:06

That leg does look fat/not toned.

The way you're grabbing it in the first photo is more displacement than the normal pinch test for fat though, I'd say.

MouthFullofGum · 08/07/2019 14:07

I am trying to lose it, but sadly my legs is where I lose it last Angry

If only spot fat reduction was a real.

CoteDAzur · 08/07/2019 14:10

I'm surprised that you need to ask. Can't you see that leg is fat?

Get moving. You'll benefit from a method like Couch to 5K.

Beautiful3 · 08/07/2019 14:11

I dont think any good will come from this. Love yourself no matter what. If you want to have to more toned legs then lots of running snd walking will help. I am following an excerise plan too, for 40 minutes every morning. I look much better and still continuing for my good health.

ComtesseDeSpair · 08/07/2019 14:15

Well, it’s fat, yes, and some body fat is normal for everyone - it’s also healthier to carry fat on your legs and bum than around your middle so there’s a silver lining of sorts.

Toning your legs will a) help you lose weight generally and b) give your legs a firmer appearance. Weightlifting and strength training are good for that.

EnidButton · 08/07/2019 14:19

I don't think posting this is a healthy thing to do. Get it removed OP. Why invite harsh criticism when you already feel bad about yourself.

Also we're all different shapes. Some women have thighs the same width as their calves so their knees are the widest part. Some women have skinny ankles and calves and large thighs. Some women have wide calves and big thighs. Not weight related.

So go off your weight and height and clothes size if you want to loose weight and be healthier. Don't pick your body apart into separate bits and compare shape to other people.

Shelvesoutofbooks · 08/07/2019 14:22

@MouthFullofGum have you thought about fat freezing if you're only trying to target that spot? Or something similar?

Enclume · 08/07/2019 14:22

Ffs your leg looks perfectly feminine and normal for a specific body type. I bet you're a pear with a small waist, aren't you?

People saying you're fat would never say it to your face.

Kel801 · 08/07/2019 14:22

yep sure is fat!

gamerwidow · 08/07/2019 14:23

The top of the leg is a bit fat bit not abnormally so.
No one would look at you and think ‘my god look at her legs’.
We’ve all got different shaped bodies and bits we hate. I have really nice legs but my middle is fat. I look like a lovely legged potato.

MatchSetPoint · 08/07/2019 14:28

Your legs are like mine I’m slim but with really chunky thighs always have had and whatever I do I can never tone them up 🙄 I hate wearing swimming costumes and shorts. If you find a way to tone your thighs please share!

FloatingthroughSpace · 08/07/2019 14:28

Yes it is fat, but you are probably one of the lucky ten percent, like me, who have lipedema. This is where fat gathers on the legs and is almost impossible to shift. It's genetic, it's not your fault. People with naturally slim legs will never understand that tree trunk legs in otherwise non-obese people are not a choice.

BlueMerchant · 08/07/2019 14:29

Yes a little but I honestly think a lot of it will be muscle by the shape of it.
Im an apple with slim legs but my thigh isn't dissimilar to yours in shape.

"People saying you're fat would never say it to your face"

Err OP asked "Is this fat?" and people answered truthfully. Would you rather we lied? Hmm

IDrinkAndISewThings · 08/07/2019 14:33

I can't tell what bit of leg I'm looking at in the first photo anyway, but honestly, no good will come from this thread. Abort mission, and do some toning exercises if it will make you feel better, but honestly you look fine to me, I'd love your legs

Enclume · 08/07/2019 14:35

I honestly think a lot of it will be muscle by the shape of it.

Agreed. The wonder womany curve of the thigh suggests strong quads under there to me.

Saffy101 · 08/07/2019 14:37

My opinion FWIW is that skinny people look great with nice clothes on, curvy people look better in the nude. As long as you are healthy and are eating a healthy diet, are taking enough exercise??? Are happy as you are? Why worry about it? If you are going to try to diet and its not for you - you will yo yo and that is unhealthy, be yourself, and be happy is most important!

FloofenHoofen · 08/07/2019 14:39

Wtf I can't believe some of the replays on here, get moving and use 5k? CoteDAzur who do you think you are? Women naturally carry more weight around their thighs. Telling her to go run isn't going to get rid of it, it might reduce it slightly but OP will always have bigger thighs as she's genetically built that way.

You can't spot reduce, when you lose weight you shrink the fat cells, it'll come off evenly but sadly place will look more slender than others depending how many fat cells are in that area.

Seriously OP be proud of what you have!!

FloofenHoofen · 08/07/2019 14:40

Kel801 helpful Hmm

evilharpy · 08/07/2019 14:41

What BMI are you, OP?

I carry all my weight on my legs too and it just does not shift. I’m a heathy weight but can’t get my huge calves into many trousers and jeans.

Nesssie · 08/07/2019 14:43

@FloofenHoofen Well the question was 'Is this fat?', her answer was 'yes' so actually I would say that was very helpful...
