I love a food thread and normally pick up some new ideas as well Smile

Breakfast, poached eggs on toast. Lots of coffee

Lunch chicken salad & party rings with the dc

Dinner later will be sausage and butter bean stew & a bottle of red for me and dh

Dessert home made strawberry ice cream ( the ice cream maker has turned out to be a great buy)

I ve eaten terribly today and trying to stick to 1200 calories but gone over twice this week already.

B fast- bowl of shreddies with two spoons of sugar
175g pick and mix and half a packet of jelly babies- took the dcs to the cinema and always go crazy.
A salad with feta, apple and avocado

mummy rocks 1200 seems quite low. Can you increase to 1400? I'm averaging 1500 a day and steadily losing 1lb a week

I was just using the fit bit as counting steps and calories but also doing lots of running. I lost a fair bit of weight this way but since I ve stopped doing nearly as much running I seem to be putting on weight. I don't think the fit bit is very accurate with the number of calories burned so thought I would try and go back to a set number of calories a day no matter how many calories I burn through exercise rather than having more calories on days I do more exercise. If that makes sense. When I lost lots of weight years ago 1200 seemed to be the magic number to stick too. But I have gone over three times this week so not a good start.

Does anyone know of a good food journal app that isn’t about calories? Had a look but couldn’t find one I liked.

Muesli, kiwi, yoghurt
Some fresh peas
Hummus, olives, beetroot salad, green salad
Cherries
Four rosemary crackers with a bit of butter
More fresh peas
Breadsticks
Courgette fritters, beetroot and carrot, green salad, potato salad
Half a bar of Montezuma peanut butter chocolate

B - Scrambled eggs on toast (about 2 hours after I got up as I went to parkrun first)
L - 2 slices pizza from Pizza Hut
D - Pesto pasta with lots of veg mixed in

Scrambled egg on toast, a peach, glass of tropical juice and a coffee.

Quite a few more coffees.

Ham salad sandwich and an apple

More coffee.

Made some homemade cookies and lost count of how many I ate, but it was st least 4 (big ones!)

Made beef teriyaki noodles and veg fritters but couldnt eat much of it as I’m pregnant and not hungry in the evenings.

I’m a bit of a sugar addict! Some days are better than others, today wasn’t so good.

Was travelling so wasn't a normal day.

Breakfast - vanilla yogurt and red fruits / egg on toast / half a croissant and jam

Lunch - lemon and poppy seed cake

Tea - popcorn, crisps, dips, two packets of 2 cookies, and Diet Coke

Overall a really poor diet Blush

Breakfast two slices french toast and coffee
Lunch supernoodles of all things and packet crisps
Dinner a full 9 inch takeaway pizza to self AND three very large full fat coke and vodka slushies

I've been feeling rubbish and eaten mostly biscuits but getting myself sorted today... Making lentil, squash and coconut curry for dinner and lunch will be avocado omelette and salad.

Lunch - packet of Quavers and an apple
Dinner will be homemade cannelloni, garlic bread and salad, followed by homemade bread and butter pudding.

(I'm not normally so organised, I've just had a bit of time on my hands today and a stale loaf)

L: At kids bday party so some sausage rolls, carrot sticks, ham sandwiches and a slice of birthday cake 😃

Minor tweaks:
I never use dried mint, it’s fine without it, and it’s fine with just fresh mint if you don’t have any flat leaf parsley. I don’t think the reverse would hold true, though.
I’ve been using ras-al-hanout instead of paprika - very nice.
The recipe calls for 250g feta, which is one and a bit standard packs. I just use one 200g pack.

Oh and I put the grated courgette into a tea towel and give it a good squeeze to get the excess liquid out. You need some left in to make the batter, though.
