My hoover has died. What should I replace it with?

My dyson has been dying a death for a while, I've had to replace the filter half way through the job just to get a basic clean done. It's now really dead- not sucking, overheating, smelling bad.

I need to replace it, but what with? I was very happy with my dyson but believe they've gone downhill now.

Large 4 bed house, two flights of stairs, 2 cats, outdoorsy people. Will be kept in the cellar.

We do also have a robot vac, but that only really works downstairs.

Shark? Which one? Vax? Gtech? Help!

Shark! I can't wait until my Vax dies and we can get a Shark. We'll get a corded pet one that lifts away.

contact dyson. I did with mine and they fixed it!

paranoiamumma · 05/07/2019 21:19

It doesn't seem have any suction I don't know

Shark liftaway. the only vacuum I haven't killed within 6 months

Bloomburger · 05/07/2019 21:28

Sebo vacuum. I have a friend who literally spends every second of every day making her house look like no one has ever stepped foot inside and I buy everything she recommends. So far a Sebo vacuum and an Aircraft Mop.

userxx · 05/07/2019 21:31

Hetty Hoover. Just the best.

DustyMaiden · 05/07/2019 21:33

Love my shark, but quite heavy.

PickAChew · 05/07/2019 21:42

Sebo.

LordScamperdale · 05/07/2019 21:49

Shark! Lighter than a Dyson and much better at getting cat hair out of rugs.

Instagran · 05/07/2019 21:51

Shark Liftaway. Not sure why I stuck with Dysons for years now.

LeglessGiraffe · 05/07/2019 21:52

I love my shark liftaway. I used to hate vacuuming but I quite often hoover twice a day now (messy toddler) because it makes my rugs and carpets look so lovely, so easily.

Dockray · 05/07/2019 21:52

Shark liftaway. Small cylinder but really powerful.

Tinkletwat · 05/07/2019 21:57

Sebo, no gimmicks with it, just a great reliable vacuum.

WanderingTrolley1 · 05/07/2019 21:58

Henry Hoover.

BelindasGleeTeam · 05/07/2019 22:01

Miele.

My C3 ecoline silence was best vac which? tested in 2018. It weighs far less than my friends Shark and it's just as effective, and half the volume noise wise. Lifts the carpets clean up off the floor.

It's bloody fabulous. I swear the house is no where near as dusty any more as it's so effective.

CrotchetyQuaver · 05/07/2019 22:11

I bought a Sebo for my dad, it's just fabulous. I love using it. Will be replacing my dyson with one eventually

BishopBrennansArse · 05/07/2019 22:13

Shark.
Corded one.
Love mine.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 05/07/2019 22:14

GTechAirRam

Best cordless I’ve ever used.

But the daddy of them all is Henry.

Don’t go near the Bosch Athlet: it’s truly shite and has fuck all battery life.

Namechange8471 · 05/07/2019 22:16

Shark lift away

BubblesBuddy · 05/07/2019 22:33

The GTech we had just pushed the dirt around and never rammed it into the blocks at all. It was utterly useless. We got our money back. The new generation Miele vacs are great. They have a suction boost and are light and easy to use. Even the larger ones are brilliant. Classy German kit. Sebo are pretty good too.

hululu · 05/07/2019 22:34

Another vote for shark. I have the duo clean one and It's amazing.

Hmmmbop · 05/07/2019 22:37

wellbuggerme it's several years out if warranty now. They did repair it a couple times which was great.

I had to replace my cheapy vacuum recently as having subsequently acquired 2 cats it just wasn't up to the job.

Couldn't justify the expense of a Shark or Dyson so went for a 'Harry' - the Henry for pet hair which was £138 on Amazon with 10 spare bags.

Absolutely brilliant, I swear my carpet actually changed colour the first time I used it.

Winenotttea · 05/07/2019 22:39

Replace it with a cleaner, hoovers and irons are sooooo overrated...
-I bloody wish-

Winenotttea · 05/07/2019 22:39

Strike through fail.
