on an aeroplane?

Is it ever OK? What if the aisle to the econ toilets are blocked but clear to the business class toilets?

Impractical

I've had PJs in BA, Qantas and Emirates business. And Virgin upper. Though not recently now you mention it, I wonder if the policy has changed?

Haven't had the pleasure of travelling first yet Grin

KatherineJaneway · 06/07/2019 14:10

I’m just left wondering which airline offers PJs in business?

My mistake Blush

LollipopViolet · 06/07/2019 14:45

@missingstreetlife not as far as I know - they have aisle chairs for people who need help getting to the toilets but they don't have adapted disabled toilets you could, for example, get an aisle chair inside, as far as I'm aware.

Some airlines have disabled toilets on some planes. But they are still pretty poky and would not fit a standard full size chair in I don't think.

I used one to get changed in once and I was still bashing my elbows on the walls.

CherryPavlova · 06/07/2019 17:07

@lilpumosmum. I’ve never been offered PJs in business. I refuse BA business but have used Emirates, Ethiad, Cathay, FinnAir, Omanair Singapore and Turkish. I’m feeling I’m missing out now. I’ve only ever been offered them on the few trips when I was upgraded to first.

ImpracticalCape · 06/07/2019 20:48

@lilpumpsmum I think that might be a while ago! I'm a regular NZ to LHR on all those airlines and pj's in First only.
Virgin Upper stopped years ago. Used to have a lovely pair from the golden years of Upper Class!

Don't worry cherry! You haven't missed a freebie!

GiggleMcDimples · 06/07/2019 21:16

I'll shit myself and waft the air towards business class next time there's a huge queue.

What are we on the fucking titanic or something!?

I'd pay massively more to avoid people like this if I had the money.

Rezie · 07/07/2019 08:19

I don't think economy passenger should use business class facilities. Unless It's an emergency. Yes, I'd rather have them use business class toilet than shit themselves on the queue. But if someone does use the facilities I wouldn't care too much. I think that with business class prices there comes the benefits of less people sharing the space.

LookImAHooman · 07/07/2019 08:21

LaMarschallin Ditto. I really don’t get what is so hard to understand about all this, emergencies aside. You pay (a lot) more, you get access to areas others who pay less don’t. And the only time I’ve flown bc was on a chance free upgrade. I have no expectation of going near other parts of the cabin because I haven’t paid for the naicer environment and facilities. Hardly rocket science.

Maybe next time I fancy a burger I’ll order at McD’s then go and help myself at the fricking Ivy.

EltonHoratio · 07/07/2019 08:22

They should be openly flogged and a message beforehand over the tannoy so all the rich people can go and watch.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 07/07/2019 10:34

Yes, I'd rather have them use business class toilet than shit themselves on the queue

Scenario:
Economy passenger has a sudden need for the toilet for whatever reason that was entirely unforeseen and takes them completely by surprise. There are people waiting in line for the economy toilets.

Outcome 1: Passenger politely requests if they could queue jump due due to medical/personal/whatever issue. Everybody - being human - says "no problem" and lets them through without batting an eyelid.

Outcome 2: Above request made, but the entire queue refuses point blank and therefore forces passenger to walk the back up the length of the plane and into Bus/First class and use those loos before they actually shit themselves.

Which one sounds more plausible?

Rezie · 07/07/2019 11:14

Outome3: passanger is sitting on the first row in the economy. There is a bathroom at the back and there is a queue (getting past people and trolly) or running to the closer bathroom that's in the business class.
