on an aeroplane?

Is it ever OK? What if the aisle to the econ toilets are blocked but clear to the business class toilets?

Thank you, begging is the plan if needed, as well as asking her every 30 minutes if she needs to go Grin

ImpracticalCape · 05/07/2019 06:11

@timeforawine tui don't have business or first so everyone will be using all lavs anyway. My advice on appeals to the queue stands.

timeforawine · 05/07/2019 06:13

Thanks @ImpracticalCape i'll do that

Usually the curtain is closed and anyone going through is stopped and sent back.

It would piss me off as I don't want loads of randoms passing me when they have plenty of toilets in Economy.

ImpracticalCape · 05/07/2019 06:20

@timeforawine seen it done loads. Queue usually very obliging.

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/07/2019 06:20

Business class passengers are also stopped from using first class loos. People pay more to have comfort, peace and quiet. This includes every aspect.

ForalltheSaints · 05/07/2019 06:40

If you were someone with a genuine medical condition that means you have to go to the toilet immediately, then you should not be stopped from doing so.

Lemonlady22 · 05/07/2019 06:53

do you mean Premium and economy.....usually Business class is in its own section where us scummers cant get too[usually up stairs] but premium just has that flimsy curtain thing which is easy to get past and all they get is a bigger seat, a glass of prosecco and their shit meal on a plate instead of tin foil lol

HotChocolateLover · 05/07/2019 06:54

Easy, fly RyanAir. No such problems there 😂

Dontcallmeprecious · 05/07/2019 06:56

I have never ever seen it happen.

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 05/07/2019 06:58

"usually Business class is in its own section where us scummers cant get too"

It totally depends on the flight, surely. Most that I've been on just have a curtain.

DreamingofSunshine · 05/07/2019 07:01

On my short haul BA flight last week, no one seemed to have a problem with economy passengers going through the curtain to the BC loos. Although there were a lot of young families so maybe they were more lenient about it? Plus the trolley blocked the aisle for more than an hour in economy.

TwistyTop · 05/07/2019 07:02

I just head for whichever toilet is nearest to me. If cabin crew stop me and tell me I'm heading for business class I would obligingly turn around a go to the toilet they directed me to.

I haven't given it much thought though. Does anyone really give this kind of thing much thought?

TheFrendo · 05/07/2019 07:02

Fewer people, not less people.

Tsch, standards.

SoupDragon · 05/07/2019 07:02

I paid more so fa la la and it's not fair and blah blah blah.

Well yeah, that's kind of the point isn't it? You get the service you've paid for.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 05/07/2019 07:45

If you have paid more for a business or first class seat in the premium cabin, I do think you have also paid to have a better passenger:loo ratio, and no, economy passengers should not use them. I think half the problem in economy is people staying in the loo for ages putting make up on, etc. I once saw a loo occupied for a full half hour and the woman who came out was fully and extravagantly made up, enveloped in a cloud of perfume!! How she managed it with the lighting in there, I don't know!

sneakypinky · 05/07/2019 07:48

You get stopped by the stewards.

sneakypinky · 05/07/2019 07:49

Why do you ask OP?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 05/07/2019 07:53

What are the loos like? Waterfalls with goats frolicking merrily, whilst a nymph plucks a harp? Do chinchillas gently wipe your bum?

maddy68 · 05/07/2019 08:14

It's not normally allowed

ImpracticalCape · 05/07/2019 08:22

@LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD having been in business and first several times...
It's the same loo as economy in every way except:
There's nicer toiletries: cologne, hand and body lotion, toothbrush sets etc
Flannels not paper towels
In bigger planes there's a window!!! I find this the most exciting. I've had wees with views of the Maldives!
On BA there's a bunch of flowers too...

So not groundbreaking! This is long and ultrahaul widebody aircraft though. Your standard quick euro hop the bog s are exactly the same.

LostInNorfolk · 05/07/2019 08:59

On BA there's a bunch of flowers too...

There is 1 single flower in a holder. This was just as a cost measure a couple of years ago but reinstated following customer protests.

CherryPavlova · 05/07/2019 09:03

It’s not usually a problem is it? Most planes have business upstairs anyway. If you’re travelling first you have your own lavatory.
On short haul it’s no really any different except less squashy seats.Lavatories are exactly the same.

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 05/07/2019 09:06

"Well yeah, that's kind of the point isn't it? You get the service you've paid for."

I can't imagine being so desperate to protect my relative wealth that I begrudge someone peeing in the same place as me. It's all a bit lady of the manor. I just can't imagine giving this kind of thing headspace.

Adviceplease1234 · 05/07/2019 09:28

I flew business recently as a real treat and accidentally used the toilet for first class passengers. I didn’t know and as the plane hadn’t taken off yet there were no curtains in use and the toilet was the nearest one. The air hostess told me I wasn’t allowed to use it as passengers who fly first class can get quite annoyed at having to wait to use the toilet. I’m not sure if that’s true but seems ridiculous if it is!
