What do you think of Economy passengers using Business class toilets?

on an aeroplane?

Is it ever OK? What if the aisle to the econ toilets are blocked but clear to the business class toilets?

You can’t, you’ll be rudely shoved back behind the curtain by the cabin crew like the pleb that you are.

And I wasn’t even trying to use the bloody toilet, I was just queueing there for the economy toilet while the aisle was blocked by said cabin crew. I did notice that most of the business class passengers looked significantly commoner than me, but that’s no surprise, I’m very much old money.

lilpumpsmum · 05/07/2019 15:49

I flew first business on Qatar airways last month and it was just myself and one other passenger in that cabin. He was on the right side, I was on the left. So we each had a loo for our own use.

Oooooh it was so luxe. The stewards would pop in after I peed and fold the loo roll into a lil triangle, refresh the towels, put a new seat cover on etc etc.

Thankfully I only had wees, would've been a bit embarrassed if I had had to do a poo and they came in and fussed after lol.

PirateOfPenzance · 05/07/2019 15:56

I fly a lot for work and last week had to use the premium economy loos as there was such a long queue for the business ones

I don't give a monkeys either way tbh

the routes I fly (all longhaul) are all full and I never get to go for a wee without a queue anyway. Only reason business class loos are more useful is they are slightly bigger and I'm generally changing my shirt in the morning to go straight to a meeting. The economy ones are so small you can barely swing a cat in them.

Blimey, how snobby are you?

wheresmymojo · 05/07/2019 16:13

I never use toilets on a plane. Even though I've done 16 hour trips.

Bladder of steel me. This is also very outing to anyone who knows me as I claim it's my superpower Grin

Footle · 05/07/2019 18:35

@SoupDragon , I think it's a joke.

Proseccoagain · 05/07/2019 22:45

Sorry I don't think they should. I fly business whenever I can afford it and I was mightily annoyed to see economy passengers using the business class toilets last time I flew.

LaMarschallin · 06/07/2019 03:53

I'm very much old money.

That's the trouble with old money. And I do know a lot of people I (and, I'm sure, you) would describe as such.
You never learn how to earn money, relying instead on the trust fund or whatever.

I might recognise you as old money.
The trouble is that, to flight crew etc, you probably just look scruffy.

LaMarschallin · 06/07/2019 03:56

Because, I forgot to say, trust funds/family money will run out.

KatherineJaneway · 06/07/2019 05:52

They were wearing their free airline pajamas. Not scruffy, just comfy.

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 06/07/2019 08:12

If you've got an incontinent toddler, bear that in mind. Maybe don't go abroad for holidays until they can hold it. Don't expect special treatment

Fucking hell this has to be the single most mean-spirited post I have ever seen on MN, and that's going some. Seriously you'd begrudge a toddler using your posh toilet to avoid wetting their pants?

Dowser · 06/07/2019 09:05

When the plane goes down most of you /us are doomed anyway . It won’t matter one flying fuck what toilet is for anyone and who sits where
I hate apartheid on planes..and yes I can afford to fly business class / upper class etc I chose not to.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 06/07/2019 09:24

"Apartheid"?

Fuck me that is a ridiculously offensive comparison.

Weezol · 06/07/2019 09:34

Yes. I'd rightly be furious if there's an economy passenger causing the queue. Child or not.

Furious? Really?

Furious? I’d sit back with another glass of Champagne. Get a grip and chill the hell out!

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 06/07/2019 09:42

LaMarschallin you do realise that a) not everyone travelling with toddlers is off on a jolly and b) parents with toddlers are allowed to book in business class as well, so you might be disturbed anyway?

SlinkyDogDash · 06/07/2019 09:46

I think its poor form to pay for economy but expect business class perks, one of which is a bigger toilet cubicle, probably with no queue.

I travel economy and wouldn't have the cheek to do it, I would also be very embarrassed to be turned back by the stewards.

CherryPavlova · 06/07/2019 09:54

I’m just left wondering which airline offers PJs in business? I’ve only ever been offered them when I’ve been upgraded. My husband takes his own in hand luggage.
I don’t mind who uses the lavatory but I would mind being awoken by a stream of chattering people passing by as I was trying to sleep. I pay for a bed not elitism

Don't know if any airline that offers free PJ's in business. Emirates, BA and Qantas only offer in First.

I've a lovely large selection of MASSIVE BA First PJ's I use for camping!

LaMarschallin · 06/07/2019 10:13

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour

I'm not stupid. I do have a sense of proportion unlike you.

Okay. If you tell me you're not stupid I've only your posts as evidence.
So we probably think each other are stupid.

If ever I get a seat in business/first, thinking abut you and BlamesFarts' wee wee troubles will no doubt give me a sense of proportion.

Which will sound like this:

Hahahahaha ..... whoops! He's slipped on that puddle..... hahaha e

Missingstreetlife · 06/07/2019 10:18

Do they have disabled toilets?

LaMarschallin · 06/07/2019 12:00

If you mean do business/first have disabled toilets, I don't know.

In economy (my experience) again I don't know since I've not needed to look.

I presume if a passenger is likely to need a disabled toilet they'd contact the airline in advance.
