Does? I'm in a few facebook groups and in nearly everyone, " dose anyone know a recipe" or " dose anyone know a good film" I so want to correct that one word, but that doesn't make you many friends Grin

I'd arks about arks, if I could be arksed: Is it still being arksed, or did it go out with the ark?

iklboo · 03/07/2019 17:50

Abit and alot irritate me

MondeoFan · 03/07/2019 17:56

I hate does anyone no
And
Sorry I don't no

I've seen it so many times now

x2boys · 03/07/2019 18:03

Auto correct has a lot to answer for it can make people look illiterate , One I saw on face book did make me chuckle , a " friend " posted a picture of her son in his new school uniform and someone commented he looked very Swarve 😂

NewName54321 · 03/07/2019 18:06

And applying the breaks to slow down a car. (Or an airplane.)

Al203 · 03/07/2019 18:06

A lot of people write ‘noone’ When it is two words - no one.

It’s not autocorrect that changes it either.

Weezol · 03/07/2019 18:07

'Viscous scum' seems to pop up on comments on the local paper a lot.

NewName54321 · 03/07/2019 18:08

Nearly forgot - a sweet of furniture to go with the Chester draws.

GooodMythicalMorning · 03/07/2019 18:13

off and off for me, and loose instead of lose or vice versa.

Suebnm · 03/07/2019 18:20

There has been a massive influx of 'his' when it should be he's.

His going out tonight. FFS.

My personal pet hate is 'your' instead of you're.

Your going out tonight. Absolutely awful.

MrsIronfoundersson · 03/07/2019 18:25

StationeryQueen are you sure you shouldn't be 'StationaryQueen'?!

Likethebattle · 03/07/2019 18:32

I saw someone write out how to make some food and wrote ‘wallah’ at the end rather than ‘voila’ she also ate at her dinning table 🙄.

Loose and lose and ‘could of’, ‘should of’ and ‘would of’ make my teeth clench. Also ‘draw’ it’s a ‘drawer’ fgs!

The best one my DH read was ‘well if you want to pay extra for all the Belgian whistles...’

Likethebattle · 03/07/2019 18:35

@MrsIronfoundersson ‘stationary queen’ would mean a queen being still ‘stationery queen’ means a person who loves paper, pens etc which sounds more likely. E for envelope is how you remember the difference.

wheelywheelynice · 03/07/2019 18:37

Worst spelling fail ever; 40 years ago I had a neighour who had a friend who called her daughter Shiloh but spelled it Chloe!

Shodan · 03/07/2019 18:56

I agree with ALL of these, but I do also confess to enjoying some of them occasionally.

For instance:

Defiantly can change the whole tone of a sentence. "I defiantly did it!" as opposed to meekly, or jauntily, or whatever.

When someone is trying to be patronising and then says something like "You have no idea how it may effect someone."

And most recently, on FB from someone who considers herself 'a cut above' - 'And they're of!' I very badly wanted to ask "of what", but refrained.

starzig · 03/07/2019 19:01

'I am trying to loose weight' makes me irrationally annoyed.

OnlyYellowRoses · 03/07/2019 19:04

The one that gives me slight rage is 'brought this by accident'. I'm always desperate to ask them where did they bring it from 😉

RedSheep73 · 03/07/2019 19:05

Because they don't bloody read, that's why. If you've seen a word enough times you don't think twice about spelling it, you just remember what it looks like.

AlunWynsKnee · 03/07/2019 19:05

Chord sofas regularly appear on our local selling pages. Don't know which chord...

sonlypuppyfat · 03/07/2019 19:06

I've just seen that someone would like to make some potatoe salad

Bluerussian · 03/07/2019 19:08

Funniest one I've come across was mentioned over the past couple of days on here: 'getter,' meaning 'geet better'.

I also dislike 'loose' for 'lose'.

'Draws' is quite funny. I've occasionally watched 'Four in a bed' and people write, 'Dust in draws', on their feedback forms.

Flatwhite101 · 03/07/2019 19:08

Am not sure what type of angles they are...

Why can no one spell...
TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 03/07/2019 19:11

'Would of' instead of 'would have'

mummmy2017 · 03/07/2019 19:14

You have no idea how often I type it and as I move on auto correct has changed it...
Love to live...
It even adds words I don't even type.

Hoovermanoeuver · 03/07/2019 19:16

"Was you the one that rang me?"
