Who could or should replace David Attenborough when the time comes?

This is a paradox of a thread really. Because we know he is irreplaceable. There will never be another like him. Though one day we should have figureheads who make us aware of the beauty that is all around us. Before we destroy it.

I have contemplated this question for some time. It has been raised before on MN (at least I think so). It came to me last night.

Monty Don.

He is engaging, sincere and loves nature. Importantly I don't think he is into himself.

Is he a good choice? Who would you nominate?

David Bellamy is 86! Haven't seen him on TV for yonks.

Ben Fogle, although it's hard to consider a world without David Attenborough in it.

Absolutely Gordon Buchanan.

I think the powers that be have already perfected a hologram of David. It's ready to seamlessly take over, so none of us know he has gone.
There would be terrible scenes of shock and sadness.
Failing that Gordon Buchanan for me.

Gordon Buchanan or Chris Packham. It needs to be someone who has a life long interest in nature and the environment, surely?

Watching Judy Dench's Wild Borneo on STV just now. Possibly a contender.
