Disagreement here about face washing,

Person 1 was brought up to never use soap on the face

Person 2 says you should use soap/shower gel

Who is right

Usually just hot water and a flannel but occasionally I use soap if I'm really grubby (sunscreen etc). Sometimes use coconut oil and a warm flannel.

Sleepyquest · 29/06/2019 08:40

Facewash...

Grimbles · 29/06/2019 08:40

Depends on the individual and their skin type and the type of soap being used.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 29/06/2019 08:40

There isn't a universal rule. You can make your own mind up.

Babdoc · 29/06/2019 08:41

What does the soap dodger use instead?!
I have soaped my face for the past 63 years, and my skin is none the worse for it. It may be different if you have skin conditions that make it sensitive.

Verily1 · 29/06/2019 08:41

Cleansing cream.

Never soap! It kills skin!

Fibbke · 29/06/2019 08:42

I've always used soap. I buy DD because she asks for them, but I often think that she'd be better off with soap.

MrsIronfoundersson · 29/06/2019 08:44

Yes, good scrub in the shower every morning with soap and shower puff thing, then moisturiser.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 29/06/2019 08:44

I use this soap. www.wild-sage.co.uk/product/handmade-natural-vegan-soap/charcoal-detox

orangeshoebox · 29/06/2019 08:46

yes, soap (bar soap) & flannel.
I remove eye make up with moisturiser & toilet paper, then wash the face with soap an water to clean the whole face.

TealGreenBalloons · 29/06/2019 08:46

God no! Surely it just dries your skin out and feels horrible. As for shower gel on your face Confused

I use a cleanser and hot flannel morning and night.

orangeshoebox · 29/06/2019 08:47

I have eczema on the face that breaks out if I use cleansers.
I doubtful that the long list of ingredients in cleanser is good for skin.

Ascreed · 29/06/2019 08:54

I just use water and a flannel, no soap on my face

BoogieFeet · 29/06/2019 08:55

Switched from face wash to soap when I ditched shower gel for soap. I wasn’t planning to, but tested it out and found my skin was less irritated by the soap.

ConfusedTutor · 29/06/2019 08:56

I just use water in the shower....

I occasionally wonder what I should be teaching my kids (hence in this thing!)

cocodash · 29/06/2019 08:59

I don't, I feel like Soap dries out my face and makes it sore!

I use a cleanser on my face nightly and dabble in lotions and potions depending how fancy I feel.

I'm mornings it's usually cold water and a face cloth

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/06/2019 09:00

No, I oil cleanse.

ElGuardiandenoche · 29/06/2019 09:09

Yep! Soap and flannel here too morning and night plus Nivea moisturiser.

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 29/06/2019 09:10

I have really dry skin. I use coconut oil, really good at removing makeup and so cheap.

FeatherySquawkington · 29/06/2019 09:14

I use soap - work in a school so need something to wash the days grime off to feel properly clean!

Monny1 · 29/06/2019 09:18

I don’t use soap. I wash my face with emulsifying ointment and water.

FaithInfinity · 29/06/2019 09:30

I use a foaming face wash. I wouldn’t use soap, I have combination skin and I think soap would cause it to dry out.

YesQueen · 29/06/2019 09:32

God no. Nothing foaming ever on my face
