Do you wash your face with soap?

Disagreement here about face washing,

Person 1 was brought up to never use soap on the face

Person 2 says you should use soap/shower gel

Who is right

Don't use shower gel on your face!

I haven't used soap on my face since I was a kid. I just use a flannel and hot water or cleanser if I have had make-up on.

Just goes to show that everyone is different. Soap doesn't dry my skin or destroy my face.

I use facial soap, sometimes from Holland and Barrett, sometimes from The Bodyshop, and sometimes from the supermarket. I have combination skin and have been told by a beauty therapist thst I have very good skin.

I am trying to cut down my use of plastics and prefer soap to shower gel anyway.

I used the solid olive oil soap for my body and my face and am happy with it.

Warm water and a flannel here unlesz i have git very hot and swetty ( like today ) I've just bought a lush bar of soap and I quite like that but I've only used it once so far so time will tell.
I wonder if some of the people suffer from dry skin when they've use soap do so because they don't rinse off all soap of properly if you rinse your face in the water you just use the wash it there still soap in the water. if I do use soap I always use fresh water to rinse my face

Tapasfortwo you are using facial soap. It will not have harsh detergents. I'm assuming when people say 'soap' they mean standard supermarket bought body soap.

I sometimes use normal body soap on my face as well, and it is fine. I clean make up off with The Bodyshop Camomile cleansing butter, then I wash with soap.

I always use moisturiser.

I use a gel facial wash, only in the shower though - as I like to make sure I've washed it off thoroughly. Other times I just use a flannel and water, followed by moisturiser
