What do posh people drink as an aperitif?

I'm currently drinking Pimms. DH commented that it was posh. I said it's probably what riff raff like us think is posh, but really isn't.

So out of interest, what would be a posh (ahem, sorry, I mean "smart") aperitif?

I don't and I've never heard anyone do it.

Not anymore (well DMIL might). But that is where the pink gin habit comes from.

Definately naval, possibly of Carribean origin.

Dry sherry
My Scottish family will offer a whisky as an aperitif but they are v old school.
Plain unsalted crisps and salted peanuts on wooden or silver dishes/shallow platters; any children present are forced to serve these..
