Afternoon all,

Based in East Sussex, Curious Arts Festival is a family-focused, weekend-long adventure. You can expect talks from fabulous novelists and poet laureates, copious amounts of delicious English sparkling wine, and even some snail-racing. With a host of famous faces taking to the stage (including Suggs from Madness and the author Philippa Perry) this is one weekend not to be missed.

This summer, Curious Arts Festival gave one lucky Mumsnetter the chance to win a Family Weekend Ticket for this year's festival, plus £500 spending money.

To be in with a chance of winning, we asked Mumsnetters to post on this thread letting us know which part of the festival they'd be most excited to see.

Thanks to everyone who entered - this competition is now closed.

If you missed out this time, never fear - Curious Arts Festival are giving Mumsnetters an exclusive discount of 15% off tickets with code MN152019. Simply follow the above link, choose your tickets, and be sure to enter your code at the point you add them to your basket.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

I'd LOVE to see the Blow Monkeys - didn't even know they were still performing! 1980s me would be thrilled to know that 2010s me could get to see them seeing as she missed out in the 80s!
Also, Suggs would be AWESOME too!

maryandbuzz1 · 26/06/2019 10:19

Would be fantastic to see and hear from Suggs of Madness fame!

CharityConundrum · 26/06/2019 10:40

What's not to love? My older son has just started building up the confidence to sing, so seeing secret choral performances would inspire him to persevere with overcoming his nerves. My younger son is developing very broad musical tastes so would love seeing Suggs and the Blow Monkeys and I would love being able to give them the chance to experience all that the festival has to offer!

mama1980 · 26/06/2019 10:42

John Cleese Smile

EvilHerbivore · 26/06/2019 11:16

Ive just head a look and there's so many interesting things actually- the bat walk does look great though

hazell42 · 26/06/2019 11:34

Ooh Suggs is going. I love Suggs, heard his programme on Radio 4 recently.
Really interesting

Thegirlwithnousername · 26/06/2019 11:38

My husband is a big Madness fan so I am sure he would enjoy Suggs.

I would love to go and listen to David Nott. He sounds incredible and interesting.

Curlybobs1 · 26/06/2019 11:57

Since the children came along reading (unless it's the copious amounts of books demanded to be read at their bedtime) has unfortunately taken more of a backseat. The spur to read books by Candice Carty-Williams, Philipa Perry and Guy Kennaway is welcome!

Intrigued by what Bridget Nicholls and Duncan Minshull have to offer, and of course the snail racing, choral performances or UK's most exciting musicians offerings....

Ibizama · 26/06/2019 12:17

John Cleese and the midnight bat walk sounds right up my families street. And mine

SlightlyMisplacedSingleDad · 26/06/2019 13:23

Got to be John Cleese. The man's a legend, and a comedy genius!

glasshouse · 26/06/2019 13:28

David Keenan sounds really interesting, the idea of the hallucinatory 80's vision sounds familiar. Would also love to play pooh sticks in Ashdown Forest.

decadance · 26/06/2019 13:30

I'd love to see Suggs, and John Cleese, looks great.

TheHopefulTraveller · 26/06/2019 14:17

Bit Hmm at all the posters who are excited about hearing John Cleese talk tbh. Some of his recent comments on social media have made my toes curl. But I would be really interested in hearing more from Lemn Sissay. Really admire his work with looked after children. And a secret choral performance sounds pretty intriguing!

gingajewel · 26/06/2019 16:49

Oh I would love to take my kids to this, it looks amazing!! I would also love to see Suggs, have been a fab for years!

Flippidyflap · 26/06/2019 17:34

I’d love to see David Nott. I can only imagine how inspirational he would be! The whole family would love a secret midnight bat walk.

Weedsnseeds1 · 26/06/2019 18:37

Midnight bat walk, camping in the beautiful Ashdown Forest and so many interesting authors

Serin · 26/06/2019 18:43

Bridget Nicholls, love her and all that she stands for.
What a lovely end to the school holidays.

FartyBumCheeks · 26/06/2019 19:42

I would love to see David Nott

WarmHugs · 26/06/2019 19:48

Ooh, I’d love to see Suggs, Welcome to the House of fun indeed!

checkmaid · 26/06/2019 19:58

I'm loving the idea of a hefflelump hunt (the kids might like it too!)

Beach11 · 26/06/2019 20:02

We would like to see Lemn Sissy read his poetry. I enjoy reading his poetry and would like to hear him read it.

We love camping as a family but have never attended a festival. This festival looks great for the whole family with the wide range of activities to keeps us all entertained

mellicauli · 26/06/2019 20:03

Blow Monkeys would definitely be Some Kind of Wonderful

Yinyen · 26/06/2019 20:07

Ohhh Suggs and Lemm Sissy couldn't decide what I want to see more. Sounds mint!

AVT5 · 26/06/2019 20:32

Sounds amazing. Definitely the midnight bat walk

twirlypoo · 26/06/2019 20:35

Ooh this looks so good - I’ve not heard of this festival before 🙈

Ds would def love the camping and the bat walk.

For me: a mix of the gin, the poetry and Suggs!
