Normally I make homemade shepherds pie, roast chicken etc for everyone but tonight we had go old bacon and sausage rolls...just normal old Richmond thick sausages on a roll with tomato sauce and it was amazing!!

What's everyone's simple tea that are just better than anything else?

I was expecting a thread about teabags. Sad

delilabell · 13/06/2019 18:21

Mmmm that sounds lovely.
Boiled eggs and soldiers!

CitadelsofScience · 13/06/2019 18:34

Dinner, it's DINNER.

I was expecting a teabag or loose tea thread too, disappointed.

For a quick simple dinner it would be an omelette with chopped onion and cheese.

I thought this was about teabags.

captainprincess · 13/06/2019 18:47

Dinner where I live so was expecting teabags Grin

Firstinlastout · 13/06/2019 18:48

Tea here for me, but anyway, fishfinger sandwiches, toasties or chip butties.

Bluerussian · 13/06/2019 18:49

Yorkshire tea is nice as is Earl Grey for a change.

Frownette · 13/06/2019 18:50

Sometimes I just eat bread and cheese if I'm tired. Piece of fruit if it's lucky.

sidesplittinglol · 13/06/2019 18:51

I was expecting this to be about tea bags too not dinner!

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 13/06/2019 18:52

Another that thought it was teabags...

I like a good thick tomato soup with thickly buttered bread
Or lemon curd on toast (comfort food)
You just can't beat them for a satisfying yummy foods!!!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 13/06/2019 18:53

Sorry OP we've completely derailed your thread.

I'm a sucker for a gimmick. PG Tips brought out a tea bag designed to be used with non-dairy milk. Sucker here bought them (am vegan so curious). They cost about a pound more for less teabags Hmm

Bunnylady53 · 13/06/2019 18:55

Sometimes you just can’t beat what my friend calls a “ cafe tea” - sausages, chips, beans & fried egg. Bacon too if you want.
Jacket potatoes are great too. Ooh & corn on the cob with butter & black pepper.

paddington34 · 13/06/2019 18:59

Just had pasta with pesto sauce amazing.

Namechangeishard · 13/06/2019 19:00

I like a nice bacon butty or sausage bap but Envy

DramaAlpaca · 13/06/2019 19:01

Assam tea is my favourite

hugoagogo · 13/06/2019 19:02

Egg and chips here with a slice of bread and butter- old school.Grin

Emmabryant123 · 13/06/2019 19:04

Cheese on toast

AuntieDolly · 13/06/2019 19:06

Ham, egg & chips Smile

cwg1 · 13/06/2019 19:06

If it's getting later, and we've still not eaten, I go to cheese on toast, or muffins or crumpets, also with cheese. Piece of cake for pud.

managedmis · 13/06/2019 19:11

I totally knew it was about the evening meal, rather than the drink. Frigging fun sponges on here tonight.

As you were, op.

caringiscreepy · 13/06/2019 19:56

Thompson's Irish tea ☕️. But if we're talking dinner then baked potato with tuna, mayo , spinach, cucumber , salt and pepper

MyGastIsFlabbered · 13/06/2019 19:59

Nobody's being a 'fun sponge' are they?

The teabags were really nice actually. I don't know why non-dairy milk needs its own teabags but I have noticed I have my tea totally differently since going vegan 🤷🏻‍♀️

AngeloMysterioso · 13/06/2019 20:01

I was excited to read a tea thread...

This however is a thread about dinner.

maidenover · 13/06/2019 20:03

Southerners assuming it’s all about them and their ways as per usual 😉

I love a jacket potato, with loads of butter, tuna and mayonnaise and cheese on top. The jacket potato skin has to be really crispy.
