Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

It’s already been said but no that is not what happened, let’s hope it’s because he was embarrassed to tell you at the time.

Fatted · 07/06/2019 22:01

Sorry OP, but they don't take bloods unless you've been arrested for blowing over or refusing to blow at all.

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 22:02

why the one call thing is an american thing and not a thing in the uk

no one gets one call here. its not a right but if the custody sgt is agreeable a prisoner may make calls if it wont compromise the investigation.

this sounds a sad istuation and id urge op to seek out help for ex veterans.

my colleague is big into this there is a charity that helps ex veterans - ill ask him about it if you would like op and pm you the details.

there is tons of support for ex soldiers.

Usuallyinthemiddle · 07/06/2019 22:02

Keep safe. Xx

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 22:05

if you dont blow at all you get charged straight up with fail to provide sec 7 or RTA

but if its bloods its because he claimed there is a medical reason he couldnt blow. usual chestnut is asthma. its bollocks because the intoxyliser is designed to cater for capacity of one lung - so even a person with one lung could blow but people think if they feign illness they will get off...
erm. no , but ok you give it your best shot and ill just get the police surgeon out.

caughtinanet · 07/06/2019 22:07

I'm not in the police but this sounds very off to me, surely the police are too overworked to be taking blood tests from people for no reason after an innocuous prang

Sadly I don't think you're being told the truth either.

BackforGood · 07/06/2019 22:12

At least you know where he is and that he is safe.
Obviously what happens next is up to how honest he is prepared to be. Both with you, and with himself.

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 22:12

op
my colleague works with project NOVA for ex soldiers. pm me and ill get you details. x

BitOfFun · 07/06/2019 22:13

Hellen- can you send me a PM? I've tried, but it's not working for me, I don't think x

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 07/06/2019 22:15

Why does he drive home for lunch, then, presumably drive back to the office? I know no one who goes home for lunch.

To be fair, this isn't hugely weird. DP works a 5 minute drive away, he often comes home for lunch. I used to come home for lunch when I walked 10 minutes away. It gave me a break from the office!

The rest of his story is a bit odd, though...

Morticiaismystyleicon · 07/06/2019 22:18

I know it's probably a bit late for this but I'd stay quiet OP, ask him what happened, listen to what he says without saying anything then refer back to the brilliant advice given by Hellen and others to see if it matches/ he's blatantly bullshitting.
Also then tell him you need records for the insurance and recovery and ham up it being in your name with him named and see if he backtracks. It's easy to trip up someone who doesn't know the system.

Ivegotthree · 07/06/2019 22:21

Op just read this thread and wanted to say you poor thing. What an awful day for you.

I hope you get the truth out of him and then a good nights sleep x

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 22:21

@AnchorDownDeepBreath partly to have a break, Burbank mainly to take the cat out (or in again, depending on his Majesty’s morning whims).

I am not going to talk this through with him tonight - way too overwrought. Will update though.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 07/06/2019 22:23

Hope you've managed to eat something

Tingface · 07/06/2019 22:24

What a horrible few hours for you OP.

I hope you get some answers tomorrow.

Ruru8thestars · 07/06/2019 22:28

Did you get your car back?

Whyhaveidonethis · 07/06/2019 22:31

@hellenbackagen you clearly don't work around here!! I work very closely with police and I can assure you that one call is all anyone gets unless it's a very slack day in the office.

There are lots of support services for ex veterans including Project Nova and Transition and Liaison services for those struggling to adjust to civilian living.

If he was in custody he should have been seen by a liaison and diversion worker who should be able to help with any Healthcare needs he has. Unless you happen to live in the 8% of the country where there isn't one yet.

Yellowcar2 · 07/06/2019 22:31

Hope you're ok

Noonooyou · 07/06/2019 22:31

Just caught up on this entire thread. I hope you are ok and that you get to the bottom of all of this. I also hope that your husband is not in any major trouble.

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 22:33

what im saying why is that a call is not a right under pace.

people thing you have a right to a phone call when arrested.. you dont. its not a right.

MrsMozartMkII · 07/06/2019 22:37

Why is the car parked around the corner? Did the police bring it back?

Hope you're ok OP.

babyno5 · 07/06/2019 22:39

Take care OP. It's late and been a horrible day for you both. Tomorrow is plenty time to sort everything out. Sending hugs and 🍷 xx

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 22:42

glad car isnt far away. means you can probably collect it tomorrow or contact insurance to recover it and no extra costs incurred.
