Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

op
they cant tell you anything - im sorry. he is an adult - one right is to tell someone you have been arrested - he clearly elected not to.

so they cant go over his head and tell you anything. it has to come from him.

im so sorry its a horrible position to be in. x

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 21:03

@Hellenbackagen - I am listening.

@Stickywhitelovepiss
The police won't be able to tell you the reasons he is there unfortunately this needs to come from your DH.

It certainly sounds as though drunk/drug (this includes prescription medication bit only illegal substances) driving is suspected.

DoctorDread · 07/06/2019 21:03

Oh dear. Sound like there's a lot of explaining to do ☹️

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 21:04

Maybe prescription medication? He's on ADs.

MrsPandigital · 07/06/2019 21:05

Does he smoke cannabis or take cocaine OP?

BumbleBeee69 · 07/06/2019 21:05

heavens.. hope all is okay OP Flowers

DoctorDread · 07/06/2019 21:05

Anti depressants shouldn't be an issue but depends what he was on?

BabyDueDecember2019 · 07/06/2019 21:06

Sorry OP but I also think he is hiding something

IvanaPee · 07/06/2019 21:06

I’d be surprised if this is from AD’s.

What’s he taking?

TheInvestigator · 07/06/2019 21:07

If he is being charged then, when they release him he will leave with a sheet of paper detailing his court attendance (that's what happened when I collected a friend from a police station). Go down to the station and wait for him; if he comes out with a piece of paper, take it and read it

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 21:07

oh sticky im sorry but no - it wont be his ADs.

Skyejuly · 07/06/2019 21:08

I hope you are ok xxx

Nicknacky · 07/06/2019 21:08

It has nothing to do with anti depressants. I read your update and was typing that it was bullshit but stopped myself and deleted.

I’m also a police officer.

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 07/06/2019 21:08

I had a crash, entirely my fault, turning right at a junction. The police could see I was not drunk - didn't breathalyse me, said it was just an accident, asked if I was ok and that was it. They don't routinely go further.

Shequakes · 07/06/2019 21:08

I am glad he is ok op. Well safe at least.

Hope you are ok as much as you can be.Flowers

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 21:09

if its gone to bloods he wont be charged there and then.

he will be bailed or released under investigation.

when the bloods come back he will be summonsed to court. he has bought some time to panic/worry/explain it to you op. thats all.

Quartz2208 · 07/06/2019 21:09

Nothing in his account Im afraid makes sense - Police are busy for him to be in a cell that long and have had blood tests means a lot more happened on his part than he is revealing

So sorry OP

Desmondo2016 · 07/06/2019 21:09

Another police officer here. If he has had blood taken then he failed a roadside breath test for alcohol OR they suspect drugs in his system. Either way he was taken to a police station under arrest. The chances of both drivers being over the limit early afternoon seems a little slim. He's definitely lying OP.

If bloods have been taken he won't get the results for several weeks. So if he comes home and tells you they were clear then that's bollocks.

Most likely he had an RTC, police attended, they suspected drugs or alcohol. He was arrested. He wasn't seen driving by police so will need to be interviewed about it. He will be released under investigation or potentially bailed to return once the blood results are back and will then be either charged to court or told no further action being taken.

Either way he is lying to you about the exact events. He's in the shit one way or another. Just don't be a mug and assume he's telling you the truth.

Kanga83 · 07/06/2019 21:09

spot on with what Hellen says. I'm a lawyer, not a police officer, but know the procedure. You will need to take some time to reflect and have some questions ready for him but you may not like the answers. However, I'm very glad he's safe.

HollowTalk · 07/06/2019 21:10

If someone reversed into me and then went berserk I wouldn't expect to be kept in a police station for 7 hours and only allowed one call. I wouldn't then make that call to work if I could call my partner to explain things and ask them to call work for me. I wouldn't expect to have blood taken, either.

stucknoue · 07/06/2019 21:10

If the other person involved insisted on the police coming and suggested to the police that he had been drinking they do breathelize, happened to me (was negative because I hadn't had alcohol for weeks). I suppose the equipment could have been faulty (roadside and at the station) but seems unlikely - could he be secretly drinking?

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 21:10

its vicar in disguise....

sorry op. you need to ask him when he gets home for the truth. id just stay calm and tell him you have worked it out.

HollowTalk · 07/06/2019 21:11

But if the other person reversed into him and was yelling at him, why would that other person insist on calling the police?

Stompythedinosaur · 07/06/2019 21:11

It does sound a bit suspect.

At least he's safe and sound.
