Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

Sounds like he has some explaining to do...

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 20:53

How can I find out the police side of things?

OP posts:
TheInvestigator · 07/06/2019 20:53

Well, if those police officers didn't have access to a breathalyser but suspect drink driving then a blood test would be the only option, wouldn't it? So that's what they'd have done.
Why don't you go down to the police station and find out?

MrsPandigital · 07/06/2019 20:53

Hi OP.... My OH is a police officer. Do you want his take on things?

MarthasGinYard · 07/06/2019 20:54

That's a load of crap

They wouldn't both be taken in and kept hours and bloods taken just for a little incident of heated discussion.

I think you are being slightly naive

Glad you've tracked him down

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 07/06/2019 20:54

Glad he is ok. Lots of time to work out what happened.

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 20:54

you ask him for the truth and tell him you didnt come down in the last shower as he seems to think you did.

he has been arrested.
he is suspected of drink or drug driving.

tell him you know that and tell him to tell you the truth because you dont want to find out at court.
that should sober him up a bit.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 20:55

It's usually very easy to see who reversed into who surely?

Frazzled2207 · 07/06/2019 20:55

Golly. This makes little sense. But am pleased all seems ok.
Hope you get both him and the full story very soon.

MrsPandigital · 07/06/2019 20:55

He wouldn't have had bloods taken unless he was under arrest. It would have been illegal. So they must have either suspected drink or drugs in his system.

He would have been offered to call you as soon as he got into custody but has chosen not to.

Sorry it's probably not what you want to hear but they don't just take bloods off everyone in a crash.... He would've failed a breath test or drugs wipe.

Stay with us. Share the wine. Xx

Fedoratheexploreer · 07/06/2019 20:56

I can’t imagine it would take 7 hours for such a small incident to be sorted. When will he be Hope OP?

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 20:56

Yes please @Pandigital

OP posts:
Veterinari · 07/06/2019 20:56

It sounds odd but I wonder if your DPis quite a big bloke and if things were a bit heated night they be blood sampling him in case of steroids/‘roid rage?

Not saying it’s warranted, just trying g to figure out why the police would detain for 7 hours and a blood sample...

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 20:57

theinvestigator
no.

in a word.

a raodside breath test is not evidential - its a guide. the evidential test is the intoxilyser at a police station. which he clearly refused to blow into citing medical issues or he would have been charged with fail to provide.
the fact its goen to bloods means he is bullshiting and thinking he could get out of blowing.
fact - you cant.

bloods are back calculated so the amount of alcohol in the blood is calculated back to the time of the accident.

he has shit it -sorry op. he is lying.

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 20:58

op - i m a police officer too. you can get the same advice of mr pandigital too.

NewYoiker · 07/06/2019 20:58

Sounds a bit like bull shit to me...

Reallybadidea · 07/06/2019 20:59

So why didn't he contact you? The only reason I can think of is that he is in custody.

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 20:59

@Hellenbackagen, thank you. I really appreciate the honesty, and will make sure I get to the bottom of this.

Can I actually go down the station and find out?

OP posts:
MrsPandigital · 07/06/2019 21:00

Hope you're okay OP. Any questions you have please fire away, I'll ask my fiance 😊

Haggisfish · 07/06/2019 21:01

Personally I would be going down to the station to speak to them. Even if they can’t tell you anything, body language often speaks volumes.

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 21:01

if people have an accident and there is no injury details are exchanged and insurance deal - absolutely no need for police.

the only time police get involved is an injury RTC (which this is not) or when someone is suspected of an offence.

the offence in this case is drink or drug driving. come on op i now its hard to hear but he is bullshitting and you need and deserve to know because trust me - if he is over the limit on either drink or drugs he will go to court.
the alcohol limit is 35 and the drug limit is miniscule.

IvanaPee · 07/06/2019 21:02

Yeah that’s complete bullshit!

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 21:02

I'm not okay in all honesty @MrsPandigital. I'd appreciate any pointers in how to get to the true version of events and potential consequences, other than OH's version of events. He is never in the wrong, if you ask him.

OP posts:
MrsPandigital · 07/06/2019 21:02

The police won't disclose why he is in custody ....unless he wants you to know (as he's over 18). Ring custody for your local police station, they might tell you he's there.... But won't go into specifics about the arrest.
