I’m a huge ER fan and this year marks 10 years since it ended and 25 years since it started. It was an amazing show with great storylines and a great cast as well as very good guest stars.
So I just wanted to see if there are any other super fans out there. Who’s your fave dr, nurse? Fave episodes? Storyline....

My fave characters were. Doug Ross, Carol Hathaway, Luka Kovac, John carter, ray Barnett, gregg Pratt and Neela rasgotra

My fave episodes were the one where Ross rescues the kid from the storm drain, the one where Carol realises she’s still in love with Ross, the one where dr green causes a mass shooting due to his interference with a father and son, marks last days, the one when Carter goes to the Congo to find Luka, the one where the helicopter falls on top of Romano, the one where Neela finds out about rays accident, the one where gregg is in a the ambulance blast.

So if you can remember share your faves 😊

Best tv show ever. Too many favourite characters and moments to mention

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 07/06/2019 14:35

Just reading this thread is making me well up - loved ER so much! Would love it if they showed the entire series on box set!

Myusernameismud · 07/06/2019 16:21

Oh how could I forget about Sally field as Abbys mum? I loved her!

There were also a few pointless characters who didnt really have any stories and wouldn't have been missed - Maluchi, Doyle and Del Amico spring to mind. Didnt much like Simon Brenner either. Loved Dubenko, especially with short hair and I loved Jane and Rusty together

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 07/06/2019 18:56

I don't remember any of those @PutyourtoponTrevor so you're obviously right Grin

pollyhampton · 07/06/2019 19:02

The episode that always sticks is when Morris was treating a man with multiple personalities and at the end he sits with him playing with a toy car. I cried for months every time I thought of it. And when Haleh shows Abby the wall where she keeps all the locker names of those that have left.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 07/06/2019 19:09

The one that sticks with me is the one where the mum thought she was being shot at & jumped out of the window with her children (& 1 died) & it turned out to be her hallucinations and not true at all. So sad.

Loved it!

PutyourtoponTrevor · 07/06/2019 19:09

Oh pollyhampton that was one of the saddest, he'd been badly abused as a kid hadn't he.

FoodieToo · 07/06/2019 19:17

Mark Greene's funeral and his daughter releasing balloons to 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' has always stayed with me. I was distraught for weeks !!
Also loved Luck Knight and was so upset when she died.
LOVED it!!

pollyhampton · 07/06/2019 19:21

@PutyourtoponTrevor yes! God, it was heartbreaking and showed the professional side of Archie.

dalecooperscoffeecup · 07/06/2019 19:24

BrienneofTarth that episode was heartbreaking.

I quite liked how Morris developed over his the series he was in.

everasbeforee · 07/06/2019 19:26

Where is the Abby love?? She's clearly the best character!!

PutyourtoponTrevor · 07/06/2019 19:29

She didn't actually release the balloons to somewhere over the rainbow, that was played after he'd died. She released them to sad ER music which was played at sad times, I recall another time it was played was when Joshua Carter had died and Kem was leaving

PutyourtoponTrevor · 07/06/2019 19:32

Abby was a miserable cow who made everyone around her miserable. The best thing about Abby was Maggie

Myusernameismud · 07/06/2019 19:33

everasbeforee she's absolutely my favourite. The episode where she has baby Joe and then a hysterectomy broke my heart. And 'the book of abby' is probably one of my all time faves.

"Why is light given in darkness, and life to the bitter of soul?"

BellMcEnd · 07/06/2019 19:41

Oh God I loved ER soooooooo much. My favourite characters were Abby, Kerry, Archie (I had a secret crush on him) and Neela. I loved how the writers shoved in English-ey swear words like wanker into her script.

My favourite episodes are the one where Abby has the placental abruption and where Lucy and Carter got stabbed. Also loved when Carol did a trache in the shop with a tampon. Cool as fuck.

My then flat mates and I used to watch it together with tears running down our cheeks. We were all nurses and doctors in that house share and used to wish our shifts were as dramatic. I’m a lot older and wiser and certainly don’t want that now!

I even have the ER theme on my Spotify playlist Blush

BellMcEnd · 07/06/2019 19:43

Oh and just for old time’s sake:-

“EKG, CBC, Chem 7, page Weaver and prep for a thoracotomy” Grin

PutyourtoponTrevor · 07/06/2019 19:44

Elizabeth Corday and the hard boiled egg seduction of Benton was a classic...the outtakes of that scene were very funny.

Benton was great when Carter was having his kidney transplant, it could have gone seriously wrong if Benton hadn't spoken up

IGottaSeeJane · 07/06/2019 19:52

The episode where they're all snowed in, there are no patients, everyone's larking about and then they hear there is a major traffic smash and serious numbers of injured are coming in.

Anyone know what the episode was called?

PutyourtoponTrevor · 07/06/2019 19:54

Was it Blizzard IGottaSeeJane?

cloudjumper · 07/06/2019 20:08

Loved loved loved this show. However, I started to lose interest after Carol and Doug left and pretty much gave up after Mark dies... never really warmed to the new characters, didn't like Abby or Sam, Neela was so whiny!
Having said that, I really want to watch it all again now Smile

Myusernameismud · 07/06/2019 20:27

BellMcEnd that's my favourite ep too, Abby was the worst patient in that episode, when she tells them not to give her magnesium because it'll make her feel like shit Grin and then the heartbreaking moment where she says 'Am I in DIC?'

Oh And then again when she asks Luka if just one baby will be enough, and tells him she had a hysterectomy. I cried my heart out.

ChipsAreLife · 07/06/2019 20:30

myusernameismud 'is one enough?' Has always stuck with me

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 07/06/2019 21:28

Ok ok I'll give you that that was a real 'gulp' moment.

But Abby was a serious drainer. I watched the smallpox episode today on my newly found streaming website and she was just mardy as hell throughout.

Butterymuffin · 07/06/2019 21:37

'One's all we need' 😣
