Best Fictional President?

With Trump visiting I was thinking how much greater it would be if Tom Kirkland from Designated Survivor was actually the president. Who would get your vote?

President Bartlett. No contest!

Snipples · 03/06/2019 20:07

Jed Bartlet. Everytime.

Snipples · 03/06/2019 20:07

And I would be CJ

SinglePringle · 03/06/2019 20:07

President Bartlett. A giant amongst men (and women. And he’s short).

TheWaiting · 03/06/2019 20:08

As above; Jed Bartlet. There is no contest.

TheWaiting · 03/06/2019 20:11

And if we have to have a Republican can it be Arnold Vinick. I almost wanted him to win! Confused

Catzpyjamas · 03/06/2019 20:13

Jed Bartlett, obviously.
I'm very confused to think there could be anyone else in the running Confused

BlueRaincoat1 · 03/06/2019 20:14

It's got be Bartlett.

There are some really enjoyable films about American presidents. I like The American President with Michael Douglas and Annette Benning, but my favourite is Dave with Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver - It's not on Netflix or Prime, and is hardly ever on tv.... I always enjoy it when I catch it though.

frankie001 · 03/06/2019 20:15

Hmm never gave The West Wing a chance!

Yes! I loved Arnie Vinnick! He would've been a good shout too.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 03/06/2019 20:16

Jed Bartlett. No contest

Blankiefan · 03/06/2019 20:16

No competition- it's got to be Bartlett.

Soola · 03/06/2019 20:18

President Dale Grin

Sauvignonblanket · 03/06/2019 20:20

Jed Bartlet!

TheWaiting · 03/06/2019 20:50

@frankie001, I’m always so jealous of people who have yet to see The West Wing. Phenomenal tv. Really. Nothing has ever come close. Series 2 that starts with the shooting and ends with the cathedral scene is breathtakingly good. And I say that as someone who’s watched and enjoyed a huge range of tv shows.

Papergirl1968 · 03/06/2019 20:59

My vote goes to Harrison Ford, Air Force One. Not only is he president, he saves everyone on board, refuses to escape in the presidential pod, kids the baddies and even lands the bloody thing if I remember correctly!

Papergirl1968 · 03/06/2019 21:00

Kills the baddies rather!

PetrichorRain · 03/06/2019 21:03

Definitely President Bartlet. President Santos as runner-up.

frankie001 · 03/06/2019 21:04

@thewaiting I will give it a go!

Jack Ryan in the Tom Clancy novels.

PrincessMaryaBolkonskaya · 03/06/2019 21:07

Bartlet without contest. I’m also envious of people who haven’t seen The West Wing.

hugoagogo · 03/06/2019 21:08

Bartlett of course.

margotsdevil · 03/06/2019 21:13

Jed Bartlett. Every time.

There is no contest!
